Dr. Neal Andrew Lewin, MD

I have been with Dr Lewin about 10 years now he is throughly knowledgable he is not an alarmist and he is usually spot on in his diagnosis I would recommend everyone who wants a top notch Dr in his field to make an appointment

I completely disagree with the negative review below - as a physician I have seen many disgruntled patients over the years blast their doctors online often because of person issues/psychiatric problems. I have been a patient of Dr Lewin's for 15 years and have found his clinical acumen to be among the best I have ever encountered in the medical field. He is thorough, kind, dedicated and always available to his patients. He takes care of my entire family, many physicians and friends of mine. I find his office to be small as he is a solo practitioner but clean and very appropriate for the type of personalized medicine that Dr Lewin practices. As a triple boarded physician you will not find a better internist in NYC. I have and will continue to recommend him to all family and friends.

I am not sure how Dr. Lewin can receive a Top Doctor rating when he does not schedule follow-up visits with patients who have been recently admitted to an intensive care unit, but I was told by his office staff that it is his typical policy. I suspect it has to do with financial considerations, but if it is clinical, that is even worse.... I have since switched physicians. Patients beware.

If you are looking for a Doctor steeped in medical establishment orthodoxy and deeply suspicious of everything else then this is the man for you or if you just miss being sent to the principle's office for a good scolding. Dr. Lewin will spend his time making every effort to make sure you have to go through as many hoops as possible in order to get the care you were hoping he would provide. After struggling with his moody over-reactive assistant you may be treated to a 10 minute condescending professorial lecture from Dr. Lewin about why he will not help you rather than finding out what is really going on. All I wanted was basic care nothing extraordinary, no prescriptions, just a relationship and someone I can confide in.time to move on.

I've been using him for 30 years, and have always found him accurate, knowledgeable and available. In other words excellent.

Dr. Lewin tends to be attentive and thorough during the examination. At the consultation at the end of the visit, he always addresses all relevant issues that came up during the examination, and answers all questions I have, regardless of whether it relates to something from the examination. Waiting time is brief--he's usually on time or just a little behind--and when I've been sick and so needed an appointment on short notice, the office has usually been able to fit me in. I recommend him.
