Dr. Neil James Korman, MD

I can actually understand how some people may not hit it off with Dr. Korman; he is in high demand and does have to calibrate his time based on an assessment of seriousness. But if you have a serious problem, he is the derm to see. Nationally renowned in psoriasis, highly regarded in Cleveland area for derm. Funny, and direct, but some of the 'conflict' may be his frustration with sub-par treatments. He wants his patients' lives improved NOW and yes, seems confident in his assessments. To me, he has some NY brashness, but since I want the best, I gird myself for his assertive personality and am glad I do. But does he hold your hand the way my small-town derm used to? No. Sometimes, the doctor's brain is more important than a sweet demeanor. (At other times I want a sweet demeanor, so I get it if you find Dr. K too direct.) I think he's awesome. So I give him 5-stars, but could understand someone giving 4 or 3 if he seems brusque or dismissive. If what you have seems minor to others but… is devastating to you, say that loudly and early in your appointment.

He seemed educate enough, so this is definitely not a comment of his knowledge. He did, however, make snide comments about my medical situation that has nothing to do with dermatology. He went as far as stating I was happy to be disabled because I didn't have to work. Horrible and ignorant comment.

Both the nurse and fr. Neil korman were very arrogant.

In the consultation room, in front of his two residents there, Dr. Korman said it appeared that I had scratched the area on my shoulder for which I was there to get treatment. I told him I did not, knowing scratching would exacerbate. Disingenuously smiling, he said perhaps I did not remember doing so. I again said I purposely did not scratch. Then he went on to ask if I would allow the "possibility" that I scratched. Speaking to me this way was demeaning and insulting and it was as if he HAD to win this conversation and be right. Additionally, as I am Case Western School of Medicine faculty myself, and work with my own department's psychiatry residents, I felt he was performing in front of his residents- at my expense. Not cute, not funny. Unacceptable. Poor patient interaction.

I agree with the majority of reviewers. All about him, no time or willingness to listen to patient. He is out the door faster than he comes. Was told what an expert he is-I have seen no evidence of this-have hardly seen him. He pushes off the residents on you so he has to spend even less time with you. The bills sure come quick though. His bedside manner is nill. He has zero interest in what the patient has to say-seems to be a pattern in his reviews. Would NOT recommend. There are other doctors who will listen and work with you-just keep looking elsewhere.

My husband and I lost a infant son 30 yrs ago this month November. After the loss of our son I was diagnosed with Severe Plaque Psoriasis. It actually covers 98% of my body . I have went to many many dermatologist with little to no help . 5 yrs ago this past October, I have been blessed with Dr. Korman as my Doctor !!!!! This man is MY ANGEL !!!!! He literally gave me a second chance at life . I went to him with Pustular Psoriasis all over my abdomen and spreading to my lower section. He is the ONLY Doctor that has EVER told me he could fix me !!!!! I was truly skeptical , however.., he was my last hope . The medication he gave me was phenomenal !!! He not only lived up to his word ., I am 5 yrs in and still have clear skin !! He will always be my Angel !!! Thank You Dr. Korman for giving ME a normal life again !!!

Very disappointed by Dr. Korman's approach and apparent disregard for how traumatic hair loss can be. I left there in tears after he looked at my scalp for literally 20 seconds claiming there is 'nothing wrong' with my scalp---- despite the fact that I told him that I've been loosing massive amounts of hair over the last few years and have been experiencing bizarre scalp numbness and continual hair breakage. Typical of a 'know it all attitude' doctor but unwilling to think outside his medical textbook and studies boxes'. We did discuss my low iron levels--- with which too he didn't leave me feeling any better about. Bedside manner-- horrible for someone as devastated as I've been with this. Perhaps his referral to a colleague will leave me feeling more hopeful.

Dr. Korman is an excellent physician and has been my Dermatologist for a blistering disease for years. He is right on !
