Dr. Nelda Francine Akinbile, MD

I left my old psychiatrist because I moved to a different state. My new insurance assigned her to me. I did not choose her. I had a similar experience to one of the other reviewers: at our first meeting she decided I should discontinue a med that I explicitly told her I was seeing benefit from. It's used to treat high blood pressure and ADHD; I have both. When I pushed back, she told me verbatim that it's not a blood pressure med. When I looked it up on the Mayo Clinic website, the very first sentence was "used to treat high blood pressure." I've been in the mental health system for 25 years and have seen countless providers. This was the worst experience I've had, and I've already requested a different doctor.

Everything that is wrong with psychiatry personified in one office. She has no capacity to be impartial or unbiased. Untrustworthy: do not trust her with your thoughts or your mind. She will use anything you tell her against you and most certainly if what you tell her does not align with hers own personal biases. At her best she has no capacity to listen and at her worse she shows no sign of any such faculty. It is very possible you will leave her office worse off than when you can in. You could do better crossing the 405 blindfolded; I have felt better leaving McDonalds bathroom.

Agree with the Negatives. She should absolutely find a career that doesn't include working with people!

Her head is full of misinformation and pharmaceutical industry propaganda. During my first visit with her she informed me that she will discontinue prescribing the only medication that, during the last 25 years, successfully combated my refractory major depressive disorder. She's an ignorant quack and guilty of malpractice.

Dr. Akinbile is a professional, caring and compassionate practitioner. She genuinely cares about her patients. She is not just a medicine dispenser like some doctors, she is into to the care of patients and helping them back to their road to recovery. She is the best doctor I have had in years. I have maintained my stability for a number of years due to her conversations and her ability to listen to and respond well to her patients. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling with depression or anxiety.
