worse doctor ever

I really felt Dr Udwadia's bedside manor was VERY poor. He read through my medical history but never gave me the opportunity to give additional information or input. He shut me down from talking details about my symptoms. I felt he didn't listen to me, I felt mocked by him and when I mentioned an underlying chronic arthritic related disease. He immediately dismissed me, said he didn't treat patients with my form of joint pain. He almost immemdietly stood up to leave the room with no direction with were to proceed other than to say "you can reach out to other Rheumatologists." He left me feeling hopeless, with no answers or referrals, upset and a bit angry with the way I was treated. I can't recommend him.

Each visit he reviews my medical history out loud, assumes no changes even if i specifically state changes, and is generally disinterested in problems concerning the patient. He is also very dismissive.

He need to improve the way he talks to patient. He's kind of harsh and want the patient to listen to him and not the him listen to patient. He might be good with what he does but communication wise makes me want to find another doctor.

I have been a health care educator for over 20 years & have taught/evaluated students from pre-hospital to fellowship in multiple disciplines from public socialized to private tertiary University programs, military, civilian, disaster relief to humanitarian missions, first to third world in several countries. I have also experienced healthcare from the patient/family/caregiver side with several complex issues. Due to Insurance issues I had to change providers & was referred to this doctor with a complex issue that requires a “team approach” from rheumatology, pulmonary, oncology & many more specialties. My primary care referral paperwork was 7-10 pages & I brought another 30 pages of reports to my appointment. My wait time was about 30 minutes which I felt was acceptable, the doctor was polite, made note of the name I prefer to be addressed by & took a very detailed history & reviewed the referral/reports that I had provided. His physical exam was detailed & he was careful to not… overly increase my joint pain by using a gentle touch & moved my joints slowly & carefully while listening & monitoring my facial expressions. He took careful written notes & made eye contact without a computer in the room which I greatly appreciated. He clarified what he felt his role in my healthcare team should be & ordered appropriate & not excessive lab work. I was offered an appointment within 2 weeks of my referral & the office accepted & billed my military insurance as a secondary instead of billing me directly which other providers have done in the past. I had read many reviews for this doctor & went in with an open mind & a clear & I feel reasonable expectation of what he could/should provide. Rheumatology deals with very painful issues & he was very clear about what medications his office would & would not prescribe & was open to the wholistic approach I believe in & encouraged me to continue my physical exercise program as vigorously as I could tolerate. He spent over 45 minutes with me directly in the exam room & all told I was in his office for 90 minutes, which I felt was totally appropriate for an initial appointment. My impression after the visit was positive & I welcome his addition to my healthcare team.

This is a kind soft spoken doctor. He does examinations and explains things in simple terms. One thing that made me feel uncomfortable was because he had problems with putting on exam gloves. Otherwise he is ok. Wait time was very long 45 minutes.

There's something not right with this doctor. Took him 4 tries to put on gloves. He threw each one away after trying to get them on. Then he double gloved just to touch my hands. He is quite the germaphobe. It makes me very uncomfortable when I see him. Even my hubby felt weird watching a man behave so OCD.

He's a bit of a germaphobe.

Very polite and very well spoken... Speaks to you as a person who matters not another pay day
