Think Twice with Dr. Dang and along with his Assistant David! I have been crying because I don't do well with changes but I didn't have no choice! I Always thought he would care about me but I was another number!!

I've been a patient of Dr. Dang's for years now, and I think it's time to switch doctors. There have been numerous issues. His PA (Zoree?) was really rough with a speculum to the point I cried out. Ladies, you'll understand that one. I later talked with the doctor about it. The other issues I've run into with the PA is that I have to twist her arm to get anything that I want done. For example, I went to the ER for a painful mass in my hand. The ER doctor noted that there was a mass and said he would refer me to a hand surgeon. The PA at Dang's office said she didn't feel any lump in my hand, even though I kept pointing to the area and telling her how deep to press. I could feel it. She said she couldn't refer me to a hand surgeon because she felt nothing. I mentioned the ER report and insisted that I get a referral to a hand surgeon. She finally gave in. The hand surgeon confirmed the mass, did surgery and removed it. The mass was quite large and was wrapped around a nerve,… which was one of the reasons it had been hurting. I later brought up this situation with Dr. Dang, too. I am a breast cancer survivor of a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Yet another issue with the PA is when I asked for a referral to my oncologist to discuss genetic testing for the breast cancer BRCA 1 and 2 mutations. In the past I had tested negative for these, but my genetic counselor said that there have been many new strains or whatever of BRCA 1 and 2 and that I need new testing. For a breast cancer survivor, if you test positive for BRCA 1 or 2, your risk of getting ovarian cancer goes up 40%. This is serious stuff, and the PA was both uninformed of the risks and, again, reluctant to send me to my oncologist after this new information, saying, "You just saw your oncologist." Once again, I had to push and push to get a referral. It's tiresome and annoying. As far as Dr. Dang himself, when I went for a physical, he did very little and mostly talked. At one point, I actually said, "Could you listen to my chest or something?" I mean, these things are normally done in a physical. He basically ignored the vast majority of my body. I had to bring up things like my cholesterol. It's also a long wait to get an appointment with Dr. Dang. Overall, I'm unimpressed with this doctor and his PA. They aren't the worst, but they're far from good, IMO.
