Our son had a massive stroke and in ICU at St Eliz. Dr Poulus called us each day on our son's and course of treatment. Always very polite, kind and compassionate, answering all questions. Though his excellent skills, staff of St E ICU team, our son is now in a recovery transition hospital . God bless you.

Our son was critical but after 36 days in ICU, went to a transitional hospital Many thanks forever to you Dr Poulus and ICU staff. You are a God sent!

I had surgery with him and after i started have pain on my left leg which was new to me..i was waiting for the nurse to come in and help me back to bed. Instead he comes in with his assistance and was extremely rude to my husband and kids by telling them to get out of the room to talk to me one on one...only to say i am was asking for more narcotics which i wasn’t the case i was simply waiting for a nurse to help me back to bed. He kept saying how i need to stop complaining because i knew what i was getting my self into...which was rude of him because he had no idea why i was in pain or even what was going on at that current moment. Made me regret having him do my surgery because he is rude and had no empathy.

I recently met with him to review the MRI on my cervical spine. He took the time to explain what is causing my pain and my options. He recommended an alternative to surgery as the first response. That was refreshing compared to other experiences!

I met this Dr. yesterday ! He is a arrogant and rude Dr. He will not be seeing me or anyone like him. I have a herniated disc in my neck and belittled me . Never will I see him for a follow up. He acted like he did not believe me about my colon cancer . very inconsiderate for a Dr. Please be careful going to him . VERY RUDE !!

Very rude, talks down to you, I am going to a different doctor. I don't trust him or his surgery skills as he has a different story every visit I have had.

Dr. Poulos did my surgery in Danville, VA. in 2005. He did not tell me I was his last patient and was leaving town after my surgery. When I went to his office to have my staples removed from my back and stomach after a L5-S1 fusion, I was told he was gone. I got turned over to another doctor in his practice. When I was in the hospital I told him my right leg and foot felt worse (sciatica pain and back pain led me to him) and he told me it would get better. I had to have the rods and screws removed nine months later because the new doctor said the screws on the right side appeared to be laying on the nerve. In the hospital, I told Dr. Poulos my foot and leg felt worse and now I am left with permanent nerve damage on the right side. So take my comment any way you want, but I had to get on disability at 35 and unable to drive or even clean my own house!!!!!!

I saw Dr. Poulos in 2002 in Danville, Va. I have degenerative disc disease and he placed a cage between my L5- S1. I have been pain free for 15 years!!

Awesome doc

Read other reviews and they sound like a different doctor than I saw. The office staff was very nice, got in to see Dr. with very little wait....both visits. He explained every thing in terms I could understand, had me view the mri results and where the problem was. .Showed and explained the piece that would be in my back,... loved his personality! I haven't had the surgery yet so we will see where that goes.
