Dr. Nicolette Gebhardt, MD

Women especially beware of this practice: you will likely be told your problems are imaginary and that you need a psychiatrist. "Dr" Gebhardt didn't even examine me, nor take any clinical notes, dod not even ask why I was there (head injury after a car accident, referred by GP). She simply decided I needed a psychiatrist and that I was malingering. She had never even heard of common migraine symptom I was experiencing and recommended a drug that she didn't even know the basic function of. I can't believe she is even still practicing.

RUDE and INCOMPETENT

I'm sorry to say that Dr. Gebhardt acted in pretty heartless ways with my mother, an 89 patient being evaluated for possible neuro problems. The dr. was impatient, disrespectful and made my mother feel depressed and ashamed. Examples: my mother was making her way to her chair in the dr.s office, navigating slowly but surely, since she had to concentrate with a lot of pain and mobility challenges. The dr. just sat down in her own chair and started firing questions at her about why she was there, before my mother was seated. Then she started neuro 'tests' - first pushing a piece of paper across her desk towards my mother and asking for a response although the paper was way too far for my mother to see it, and my mother clearly didn't have the mobility to lean forward, or pull the paper towards her. I had to say "Dr., she cannot see that sheet, could you move it closer to her?" After that, she would slap down (no other word for it) pieces of paper with puzzles and cognitive tests and my… mother was trying hard to do her best. But as soon as the dr. saw that she was making mistakes she would snatch the paper away (no other word for it) making it clear my mother had 'failed' that one, without letting her finish, Then she'd slap down another sheet, same routine. I could see my mother getting more confused out of stress as this mean behavior continued. After the tests were over, the dr. insisted on talking directly to me instead of including my mother EVEN AFTER I TWICE SAID "please talk directly to my mother" (who was cognitively fine even if she had some reading and word-finding problems. Anyway, if she respectfully talked to my mother it's not as if I wouldn't hear even if my mother DIDN'T understand.) My mother left the appointment feeling battered and dispondent, with no helpful guidance or advice coming from this anti-helpful encounter. The dr. wanted to schedule a follow up but needless to say my mother will never go back to her, and I would never want to take her back. Work on your emotional competency skills, Dr. Gebhardt!

She will not call us back to tell us what her findings were. After an hour long exam..she said she needed a couple of days to do research but it is almost three weeks and we nor the PCP have not heard a word. So far it feels like a great waste of insurance money.

Everyone in the office and including the doctor could not be more helpful and kind and I came in with a complicated situation they where excellent!
