Dr. Nirav Pandya, MD

We highly recommend Dr Pandya (and his colleague, Dr Swarup). Our son is an athlete who has had multiple soccer, XC and MTB injuries, so we know Dr Pandya all too well. Years ago our son had a recurrent shoulder problem that no other doctor understood - we waited 2 months to see Dr Pandya, and it was worth it. He diagnosed the issue immediately and recommended PT vs surgery. My son then broke his elbow. Dr Pandya did not have time to do the surgery but recommended Dr Swarup and was extremely helpful in other ways. My son then had yet another shoulder injury, Dr Pandya was there for us once again. He will call, respond to emails, explains clearly, and is very "on it" and prompt. He's funny and pragmatic; my son likes seeing him. He is incredibly sharp, quick and competent. We trust his judgment and recommend without hesitation.

Dr Pandya prevented our daughter from having surgery that another Dr said was needed after breaking her arm. He showed us evidence of bones re-aligning and healing without surgery and we were so glad she didn’t have to go through that. He has a great bedside manner. I am so thankful that we got an appointment with him. I would see him again and refer all my friends children to him should they need his services

Dr. Pandya was extremely competent, professional and knowledgeable. Our daughter had a complex sports injury that other Orthopedic Surgeon's wouldn't work on because they didn't think it was possible to repair. Sports, particularly soccer, is a huge part of our daughter's life and she was beyond devastated, there really aren't words to express how emotionally ruined she was at the thought of not being able to play soccer. Dr. Pandya took on her case and performed the surgery and here we are just over six months later and our daughter is out on the field playing soccer again! I cannot thank Doctor Pandya enough, and I could not be more impressed with him and the entire team at UCSF Walnut Creek and Oakland Children's hospital.

There is nothing that will sink your heart more than watching your little 6-yr old pumpkin get wheeled into surgery - make that emergency surgery at midnight. But when you hear Dr. Pandya is on call, somehow you begin to get it together. And then you talk to Dr. Pandya and the clarity of his explanation, the humanity and warmth you feel when he talks to you, somehow, you know in your gut, your kid is going to be ok. This is Dr. Pandya. Unbelievable care and unsurpassed humanity. Truly, there is nothing negative to say.

Dr Nirav Pandya is a well liked and respected orthopedic surgeon in the SF Bay Area. He is high energy, but engaging, focused and forthright. As a parent with 7 knee procedures myself, including a replacement, and a nursing clinician/educator, I have every confidence in his opinion and work. My teen-ager with a new ACL agrees. Highly recommend!
