Dr. Noel Susan Baker, MD

Would rate a 0 is I could. My son has been showing signs of Epilepsy, which his father has, as well as many others in his family. 2 weeks ago, my son had the worst day ever. He had 8 Absence Seizure and 1 Grand Mal seizure. Dr. Baker was the on-call Nero at the ER that night and never showed up to assess him. All she did was set an appointment & an EEG. The ER Dr put him on Keppra. We went to her testing since he was on Keppra already it showed no signs of seizures. When we visit her today, she acted like she didn't believe us & said she didn't think that he had Epilepsy & wanted to put my son on extended testing that would put my son in danger & cost me more money to tell us what we already know. She never tried to explain why she didn't believe us or tell us what she thought it was & seem irritated that I was questioning her. She is extremely rude and acts all high and mighty, which is against Christus Mother Frances' core values. I do not understand why they keep her employed.

My husband had a stroke during a heart cath. and had to eventually have open heart surgery very soon afterwards. During the bypass a nerve was nicked which in turn caused Horner's syndrome. Dr. Baker was the one to diagnose the syndrome and with a very BAD bedside manner stated "Oh well, looks the new you" instead of offering answers or help. We have since moved on to another Neurologist and have a remarkable recovery. Thanks Dr. Baker for time, money and nothing else!! Please, if you need a neurologist it is worth the time to find someone else.

She treated my young son when she was practicing in Dallas. His seizures worsened. She kept increasing his dosage and he continued to get worse. No compassion, very rude and lacked the skills to treat him. I finally switched doctors and it was life changing. He was put on different meds at a very low dose because he said some people are chemically sensitive and "less is more." His seizures stopped and a year later was declared seizure free. I regret every single day the time wasted with her. There was so much more that she said and did that there's not enough space and time to write about. Please protect your loved one and look elsewhere.

She refuses to interact with the patient and will not ansewer questions... worse inter action with a dr ever

Untrained nursing staff,i felt afraid to stay. I actually thought I was not going to make it out alive if I was to stay over night as Dr.Noel wanted me to stay and I refused , now she has droped me asa patient. WOW. I just thank the Lord I had enough sense to leave .Bad bedside mannors,not concerned of my feelings or anxiety.Clinic staff has a five star , Hospital staff on that day a o star.

Dr. Noel Baker has the most appalling bed side manner. She was quite cold and unresponsive when asked even the slightest of questions about my mother's condition. When leaving my mother's room, she was heard by myself and the nurse complaining what a waste of time it was having to come see my mother. My mother was assumed by medical staff that she may have had a stroke. Thankfully she did not. That is to be celebrated, not complained about it being a waste of time for her (the doctor) to come out to tell us the news. I would NEVER send anyone to this doctor! Especially an elderly lady who is seeking answers to her ailments. I had to rate this a 1 star only because there is no option

Our son had chronic daily headache/neck pain. She gave him a 10 min lecture about stress. Turned to walk out of the room, turned around and said "oh, you need to pretend you have 6 advil in your piggy bank for every week, & you decide when to use those 6 advil". That was it, no compassion, no concern for helping our son. She appeared bothered and to have no desire to help whatsoever. We've since gone to Houston. After 2 yrs of chronic pain he was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia. Has had nerve decompression and has his life back.. Why she's in the field of Pediatric Neurology, we have no idea. She seemed cold & uncaring. Bad experience.

Dr. Baker is a doctor that has absolutely no care at all for her patients or the parents of her patients. I have NEVER met a doctor who is as rude and completely demeaning as she is. Do not bother asking her any questions so that you, as the parent, understands what is going on because she becomes very offensive and acts upset that you even ask her anything. Her bedside manner is absolutely horrible. My daughter proclaimed that she did not want to see her again because "she was mean". Unfortunately she is the only children's neurologist in Tyler and that is unacceptable. After my daughter's seizures worsened and had to be rushed to the hospital, the ER doctor called her and she didn't want anything done but bloodwork. When I called Dr. Baker, she had no care at all and was so extremely hateful to me and blamed me, her mother, for not giving my daughter medication. Excuse me, I am her mother and I quite frankly do not like the fact that my daughter has to go through this and I… certainly don't like the fact that this doctor refused to do anything but blame me. She had the audacity to sit there and ask me "Well what do you want me to do about it?". What I want is for you to care, stop being so rude and hateful and have a little compassion. I will never see this woman again and certainly will not make my daughter see her again. I would rather drive across country to another neurologist in order for my daughter to receive proper treatment from someone who cares and is willing to make sure that the patient is well and the parents are well informed. Dr. Baker, I really wish and pray that you find your heart and your compassion and remember the true reason of becoming a doctor is to help others. Since you would not see her after her epilepsy has worsen, we are seeing another doctor who is finding the answers that we deserve and that my daughter needs. All I can say is that you were WRONG and my daughter is in much better care with another physician.

Dr. Baker is an extremely rude dr. I am amazed she was ever hired by TMF. After filling out 5 pages before my sons appt, she walks in and abruptly asks "what's the problem?". She has no compassion for children with migraines, her bedside manner is horrible. Dr. Baker made me feel like an idiot as a parent. When I asked question regarding several RX she was prescribing she cut me off and replied " I will get to that"....in which she never did. My minor son was even afraid of her . Dr. Baker is in the wrong profession. I left so confused. I will NEVER go back to her and advise anyone to choose another Dr. Don't waste your time and money. I called the next day to speak with the office manager regarding our negative experience. I was told,........ "Yes she has a very dry personality and may come off abrupt. Did her nurse Whitney, tell you before hand what to expect? We try and tell new patients beforehand." And she is a children's neurologist ?
