Comprehensive Pain Management and Sports Medicine Specialist with Advanced Training in Clinical and Surgical Techniques Originally from Washington, DC, Dr. Azeem obtained his undergraduate education at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA and his medical education at the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He served his medical internship at Medstar Harbor Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland followed by his residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Washington, DC. At that time, he also served as Chief Resident. Dr Azeem is Double Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Pain Medicine. Upon completion of his residency, Dr Azeem held a faculty position with Medstar Georgetown University/National Rehabilitation Hospital as a Musculoskeletal Medicine Specialist. He then went on to complete his ACGME Interventional Pain Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, …PA. Most recently, Dr Azeem was an Interventional Pain and Sports Medicine physician as well as Director of Neuro-modulation at Louisiana Pain Specialists in New Orleans, LA. Dr Azeem has a strong background in interventional therapies for spine disease, complex pain syndromes, peripheral joint disease, sports injuries, and regenerative therapies. He is an expert at both diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr Azeem lectures nationally and has authored numerous publications, with several on the subject of PRP (platelet rich plasma). He is a member in the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and the American College of Physicians.

He has always had great knowledge of all areas of pain. I always leave knowing what to expect. Treating my pain is always set up (within a week) of my visit. He listens to every symptom before recommending a solution. Caring doctor and staff.

If your in pain and you think nothing will help then do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Azeem. I thought my life was over. I could not stand up for more then 5 minutes. I couldn’t walk. I was in so much pain and on so many pills. He listened. Came up with a real plan. And I’m actually walking around and enjoy my retirement pain free.

He is abrupt and does not listen to the patient. I would not give him even one star.

I've had back and hip pain for years and have had moderate success in the past. Dr. Azeem and I discussed several modes of treatment as well as the pros and cons of each. Dr. Azeem suggested a caudal steroid injection. I requested a local anesthetic. I had 90% improvement immediately and within 7 days, I was pain free. I can't say enough good things about my experience.

Dr. Azeem has been professional, caring, and thorough. After struggling with sciatica and back pain for months, he was able to determine the the best course of action. He did a transformational epidural steroid injection and my pain has improved 80%. I'm now starting physical therapy and hope to see continued improvement. I can't say enough positive things about him. He and his staff have been great (Jenny in particular).

Very capable doctor. Spent time with me, examining my neck. Performed 2 cervical ablations which have relieved my pain. Can't thank him enough!
