Dr. Norman Alan Chapman, MD

He’s the most caring mental health professional I’ve ever met who genuinely tries everything to help. Occasionally this leads to longer wait times because he won’t let you leave unless he’s been able to help you. Reading these reviews I’ve noticed a lot of people are complaining about the wait times but if they were allowed to leave without being helped they’d complain about that. I’ve never had a bad experience with Dr. Chapman and I’ve known him for many years. He’s been seeing members of my family for years and none of us have ever had complaints. I would recommend him to anyone who needs/wants to get help because he will help, he always does

I read some of these reviews and disagree .I have been seeing him for many years and I like that he remembers things I've told him ,he is very caring and I would recommend him to anyone

He ghave me dangerous psychiatric drugs without warning me their ability to cause involuntary movements, Akathesia, suicide thoughts, insomnia, massive anxiety, etc. Run away from this reckless guy! I am weaned off of this garbage for good and done with his fraudulent addictive practices.

Doctor was always behind schedule then, often shortened my sessions. Receptionist (Dee) is extremely rude and virtually never answers or returns phone calls/messages. I tolerated the situation for over a year hoping it would improve--never did. Found new, caring doctor in a professional office. Why did I wait so long to change doctors??

Psychiatrist who truly cares, a rare find

Secretary very rude. Never been early to an appointment- or on time. Refused to speak with me after being hospitalized.

I waited 30 minutes after my appointment time to finally see the doctor, who ended our session after 15-20 minutes to see his next patient. I found out afterwards that my new insurance would not cover the visit. So he charged me $155 for 15-20 minutes of his time. This was full price. He would not give a discount as most offices do to uninsured patients. He also likes to lecture about the "dangers" of marijuana.

absolutly wonderfull,after all these years of being treated as if I was really crazy, Dr. Chapman made me feel so comfortable, and Dee made me feel like I was very important to them both, took care of all my insurance.

I was unhappy with my daughters previous psychiatrist. She has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and ADD. I found him to be very kind, intuitive and knowledgeable about medications. We added a new medicine and she is doing very well. I am so happy I got a second opinion.

Dr. Chapman came into our lives when my son went into the psychiatric unit in an attempt to deal with his self-destructive behavior and inexplicable rages. Over the years, Dr. Chapman has worked with us to manage my son's issues. He struggles with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADD and Asperger's Syndrome--all of which are by-products of his Seizure Disorder. Dr. Chapman has always explained the options and effects of different medications and promptly returns calls when issues arise. In addition, he has provided excellent guidance in dealing with the public school system to ensure my son's continued access to a normal (as normal as possible) education. He has given me my son back when I thought he was lost to his mental condition. My gratitude is beyond words.
