Dr. Olivia M Bannan, MD

On my last review, my phone incorrectly autocorrected. My A1C was 4.0%, an average of 60 ng/dL

I saw Dr Olivia Bannan at least 4 times. On 4/21/03 I had an office appointment with her and she ordered a blood draw. I’d been complaining of profound weakness and felling like I would pass out. The results of that blood test showed that my A1C was 4.0% and the next page stated that this represents an average glucose level over 2-3 months of 60 mcg/dL. She made a big production of calling my husband and telling him that she thought I was mentally ill. In a year I was institutionalized. I feel it was irresponsible of her to not catch my, as of then, undiagnosed hypopituitarism, the reason for my low blood sugar. It’s dangerous to walk around with blood sugar that low. Internists should be the eyes and ears of other specialists and she failed to understand that my A1C was dangerously low and she failed to try to identify the cause or refer me to a COMPETENT endocrinologist. Instead, she just decided I was crazy. Sure, she sent me to an endocrinologist but it was one within… her own clinic and I needed a COMPETENT specialist, which her referral was not. I’m traumatized with being institutionalized and having waited until 2015 to be diagnosed with hypopituitarism. I always had it. I was just ignored. This is unacceptable.

Dr. Bannan spends time with me as if I am her only patient. She is compassionate and I never feel rushed. I have read two unflattering reviews left on this site and think they must have been about some other doctor. I know that one person spelled the doctor's name differently so I feel certain that that person was referring to someone else, not Olivia Bannan. I have been a patient of Dr. Olivia Bannan for a number of years and think she is excellent.

Outstanding physician. Listens and takes time to review concerns. Follow up is good as well - through portal.

This doctor is very unorganized, unprofessional and after being a patient of hers after 12 years still did not know my name or even recognize me when I would come in for yearly visits. When I addressed this with her she replyed " I see 30 patients a day , how am I supposed to know you" I could write another 3 pages of frustrations that I have with doctor Bannon! I will be moving on, thier are way to many MD's to put up with that!

Was prescribed medication with unreasonable side effects that has been black boxed by the FDA. I was not told ANYTHING about the side effects or that it has been black boxed. Different medication with SIGNIFICANTLY less side effects could have been given to me.

Dr. Bannan comes across as a consummate professional. She is very thorough and takes her time to cover all the bases. She is personable and able to explain what she's talking about.
