Dr. Olivia Michael Sementi, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Sementi until I was about 20 weeks pregnant. She is nice, but never came to our appointments prepared. She spent the majority of her time looking at the computer, and I often had to remind her of important things like bloodwork or ultrasounds. She always rushed me and I never left feeling totally heard. These are things I could easily overlook, if they were the only issues. I started having major complications due to Hyperemesis Gravidarium. Dr. Sementi offered some options for treatment, but mostly had a “just try and keep eating” approach. She constantly downplayed how severe my symptoms were, and was reluctant to help me set up Home Healthcare. She asked why I couldn’t just come to the clinic for fluids AFTER watching a nurse poke me SIX times for an IV and fail. Then they asked me to drive to a different clinic so a different nurse could try. All while my two year old twins were at home and I needed to get back to relieve my help. Once my home health… nurses and pharmacy were added to my team, I thought things would be smoother. Dr. Sementi constantly failed to respond to prescription refill requests or failed to write the proper prescription period. At one point, it took my pharmacist and my husband demanding she respond and refusing to get off the phone until she did. It was before a long holiday weekend and I was about to be left without any fluids or medications. Zero apology for this negligence was offered. There are more examples, but this is already long. So I’ll end with this one. I asked for TPN, because eating and vomiting 15-20x a day was torture. Her response, “I don’t do that until you lose 20% of your pre-baby weight.” I was in impeccable shape before getting pregnant, so my husband and I did the math. 20% loss would have put me in the weight range that I was when I was anorexic. I was dizzy, started forgetting things, having vision issues, and my body was cramping all over. My home health nurse told me she felt uncomfortable and that the level of care I was given was dangerous. I changed OB’s that day. Dr. Brasch at Holy Family immediately ordered bloodwork, and called me personally that evening. The result: severe malnutrition. I started TPN the next day. To summarize, if you don’t require ANY extra care...Dr Sementi is an option. If you want responsive care, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Dr. Sementi is a professional, caring and supporting Doctor. I give her an outstanding recommendation.

She is an absolutely amazing. She takes time in caring for each patient. Yes you do wait a little bit to see her but that is only because she takes her time with everyone and makes sure you leave there with all your questions answered. I would recommend her to anyone!

I had tubal ligation done by this doctor. She told me she was going to cut and burn, never mentioned she was going to use filshie clips. I found out three years later upon requesting my medical records that I now have metal clips inside me, which I would have never agreed to. I dont trust this doctor.

Every appt i have made with her she is at least an hour late for! Im about to have my baby and i am last minute having to find a more reliable doctor because i can't even rely on her to make our appts. My last appt i waited 3 hours and ended up leaving. My ob with my last pregnancy was amazing but can't do csections so unfortunately i got stuck trying to go with her and haven't been able to get in for my ob care in months which is very stressful! I would not recommend this doctor unless you dont mind waiting for long periods of time and having an unreliable doctor who may or may not make it to your babys birth. Other then that i hear she is nice and she seems to know what she is doing at least.
