Dr. Onajite Onaodowan, MD

I just had the best experience with Dr. Onajite Onaodowan In your rheumatology department! She is professional, patient, empathetic, and thinks outside of the box. I have had a terrible pain in my right leg for almost a year and a 1/2. I have seen at least a dozen doctors from all over North Carolina and Chicago. She is the only one who truly listened to my symptoms and gave me a completely different diagnosis. And she it seems was right! Thank you Dr. Onaodowan for your patience and expertise! And thank you Advent Health for hiring a young, brilliant, and innovative doctor! I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Today was my first visit with Dr. Onaodowan. She was polite and helpful. She was considerate to my requests.

I went to this doctor for a second opinion, after increasing health concerns. She was rude and dismissive, and did not address my concerns. I was informed that my diagnosis was what my prior doctor had told me (before she even looked into anything!), and that I should just lose weight and get mental health assistance (???). I left the appointment feeling disrespected and that I had wasted my time and money. I have since gone to a more competent rheumatologist, who diagnosed me with an autoimmune condition within a few visits. Due to Dr. Onaodowan‘s incompetency, I now have permanent damage in my body from this going undiagnosed and thus untreated. I have seen many doctors throughout my life, and she is by far the worst I have ever encountered. She clearly is not up to date in her field, and has a long way to go in properly interacting with and treating patients.

Within 30 seconds of my first appointment with this doctor, I was very concerned about the care I would be receiving. She was abrupt, uncaring, and had no knowledge of my medical history. She stated that I have no RA activity, which was totally against the doctor I saw previously, that diagnosed me with it using a Vectra DA test showing moderate active RA disease, almost into the severe realm, and even stated that I didn't need to be on the medicine prescribed since there is no active disease, without further tests or exam. Beyond her insults, she refused to consider any alternatives to her protocol of toxic chemicals, and decided to order a whole bunch of unnecessary tests. One test was for a visual field that she intentionally wrote up incorrectly to force me to do another visit with another doctor that was unnecessary. After that dreadful visit, I checked her reviews only to find that there aren't many and only one that was positive. One in particular was from only a month ago… with a similar situation, that she told a woman with Lupus (diagnosed 30 years prior) that was in the middle of an active flare, that there was nothing wrong with her. This woman should not be in practice anywhere. She is the worst physician I have ever encountered.

I left the office in tears. By far, the worst experience I have ever had with a medical professional. She did not listen, did not factor in prior diagnosis in another state, family history, symptoms and she denied I had an auto-immune condition that I had been diagnosed with on more than one occasion and have have for over 30 years. She ordered unnecessary x-rays and then when they did not prove what she was trying to diagnose me with, she told me there was nothing wrong with me and to come back in six months - despite the fact that I had visible swelling and every symptom that a patient in the midst of a major Lupus flare would be expected to have. Not only did I leave untreated and in pain, I am currently disputing bills for test she had no business ordering. I might suggest she head back to medical school and learn a little more about Lupus.

Very rude , felt judged , felt like she didn't want to help . no compassion almost like she didnt believe anything you said . very disappointed with her bedside manor

I found the doctor to be both courteous and knowledgeable. The doctor was informative and compassionate. It is hard to find a doctor who is so versed in fibromyalgia. I am very happy with this doctor.
