Dr. Pablo Balboa, MD

I have been going to him for several yrs. now. I usually do not like Dr's I see, but I do like Dr. Balboa. Always is polite, cares for his patients and is overall a good Dr. I usually do not stick with Dr's but I have with him due to his nature. On top of my conditions

I sat in the examination room for an hour before he rushed in. It was a new patient visit, which set my expectation that he would pay attention to me to learn about my health history. Not a single question was asked about that. He barely did a cursory check of my thyroid and listened to my heart and breathing. When I asked for advice on a health issue I have, his response was for me to go on a dairy free diet, which to him meant no butter, no cheese, no eggs, no mayonnaise. I waited for him to clarify why a dairy free diet required me to forgo non-dairy items (eggs and mayo are not dairy products), but none was given. He asked me why I took a medication, and when I told him, he gave me a condescending smile and asked when I'd had the problem I claimed to have. Then, as I was ushered out the door after a ten minute visit, I heard him talking about the vacation he could now leave for. I got the distinct impression that my health was secondary to his vacation. I am in the market for a… new doctor. I'd rather fall over dead than return to someone so lackadaisical about his patients.

A physician who has no empathy, is very judgmental, and does not treat his patient with dignity and respect

Dr Balboa seems to really care about his patients I am so glad I found him.

I have been going to Dr Balboa for a long time and him and the staff has always treated me with the upmost respect ... thank yall for all u do ..

I am an eaderly female and my blood pressure medicine was lost in the mail. I asked for a five day replacement refill until my mail order supply arrived. I had been out of medication for several days and I was denied help from the office staff. I was treated as if were asking for an unreasonable request and was sent on my way without any recourse. I wanted to warn any person seeking assistance from this practice! I will be looking for a more caring primary care physician.

Dr. Balboa really likes to write prescriptions. At one point he had me on 6. I stopped taking them, and I am just fine without them. I switched to another doctor, and he said it was fine as long as I wasn't having any problems. Also, I went to see Dr. Balboa when I was sick, which causes problems with my asthma. He prescribed an inhaler and an asthma medication, and I told him I already took them. He was confused as to why. I had to inform him I was an asthmatic (which he should've known, because I was hospitalized for asthma under his care) and that he was the one that had prescribed them in the first place. Don't know if he can't read his charts or if their record keeping is just that bad. Needless to say, I did not feel comfortable seeing him again.
