Do everything in your power to not see Pamela Meeds as a mental health provider. I am 26 years old and still recovering from the trauma after seeing her years ago. For context, I was mentally, emotionally, se**ally and physically abused as well as witnessed violence as a child. She acknowledged my significant depression and anxiety, yet labeled me as narcissistic and that those qualities would “crystalize into adulthood.” Had she asked my father about family mental health history, she would’ve known that I have a family history of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. What health professional doesn’t ask about family history? She eventually told my father and step- mother that there was nothing she could do for me. I was a child. Fast forward to a suicide attempt in college where I had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, she had to quickly cover her tracks for her clear medical malpractice in misdiagnosing me as narcissistic, not doing due diligence in asking about family history,… etc. She told my father and step- mother that children can’t be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. You can label a child narcissistic but you can’t diagnose them with bipolar? After years of aversion to therapy after that, I’m seeing someone who is actually competent and she informed me that that is not true. Please see someone else, she will do you a disservice and you may end up coming out worse after seeing her than before.

If you are in an abusive relationship that doesn’t involve physical abuse, stay far far far away. She will do nothing to advocate for you. My ex is emotionally, verbally, and psychologically abusive (I have plenty of proof). She once told me I behaved like “a battered woman.” That is because TRAUMA IS TRAUMA. It doesn’t have to come from fists. All that will happen is that you will get re-traumatized. Seek out a therapist who is actually trauma informed and is well versed in personality disorders.
