Dr. Patrick Philip Avet, MD

I'm not sure what all the negative comment are about, so I want to set the record straight. I have been seeing Dr. Avet since he first established his practice at Corpus Christi Eye Associates, probably about 25 years. During this time, Dr Avet has been professional, easy going and very informative. He is always willing to answer my questions and to provide his expert advice.

I have been going to Dr. Avet for about nine years. At that time I had damaged one eye. He sent me to a specialist and they took care of my eye. Since then I have been seeing Dr. Avet on a regular bases. I have had two surgeries to remove caterac. I felt very comfident in the Dr. He explained everything very clearly. His office staff was also very helpful. I would recommend Dr. Avet and his staff to my friends and family. I have been very happy with my surgeries.

I have been Dr. Avet's patient for over 5 years. I first visited him when glaucoma was suspected. He confirmed I had glaucoma and prescribed a medication which has keep my eye pressure at a sustainable accepted level. I visit him every 6 months. During his examinations he found I had cataracts in both eyes. He informed me on cataract development as the problem intensified. The results of his examinations in combination with deteriorating vision convinced me to move forward with the first cataract surgery, which was carried out with minimal discomfort, resulting in 20 20 vision. I have scheduled surgery on the other eye and am looking forward to soon having excellent vision in both. I recommend Dr. Avet to all who need cataract surgery. His profesional ability made the procedure very easy for me. His bedside manner is friendly and compassionate.

I had cataract surgery and was severely nearsighted wearing really thick lenses. After the surgery I can see without having to wear glasses. So happy with the results. Staff were nice and Dr Avet was even nicer.

We have been going to Dr. lAvet for almost 8 years. He has removed 2 cataracts for me, one on each eye. Things went well for me. My husband goes to Dr. Avet also. We would recommend him to everyone.

Dr Avet is very kind, knowledgeable and communicates very well with patients. Highly recommend!

Dr. Ave was so rude. He actually raised his voice at me in the hall in front of his staff. He was upset because asked him if it was normal to wait 2 hours to see the doctor. He sarcastically replied that he was “sorry for my displeasure.” He wasn’t very helpful when I had questions about my eyesight either. He acted like he was annoyed for taking too much of his time. His nurse wasn’t very polite or helpful. The patient exam rooms are really old, everything looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 1980’s. It doesn’t give you much confidence in the cleanliness of the equipment they’re using. I will never go back to this doctor.

I mostly enjoyed his personality----good bedside manner!!

Unwilling to listen to patient comments. Arrogant. Poor interpersonal communication skills. Old medical attitude of I'm the doctor so I know more than you about all issues related to YOUR vision. If you are at all a participating patient in your health care, go somewhere else!

He put my eye infection into words that I could understand
