Dr. Patrick James Horan, MD

Absolutely the worst doctor office experience I've ever had. Patrick doesn't listen or care. Front desk person seems inconvenienced by your presence and doesn't care in any way. She's more concerned about her phone and nails. Debra the appointment person needs to walk away from this career because she doesn't care about you. Patrick just tells her to call and say whatever he tells her. There is no existence of caring in the tone of her voice. After waiting for months for hip replacement with severe hip pain they canceled my surgery with no explanation and never called me back after several attempts. Save your time, money and sanity by going somewhere else. I did, and it was so much better than this failing business.

I’m sure anyone that’s written a negative review caught Dr. H and/or a staff member at an awkward and busy moment. I’ve been a patient of Dr.Horan’s for at least 15 years for various joint problems; not the least of which was a broken ankle due to a fall back in 2015. I can’t even begin to tell you how straight forward and honest he’s been with me on different situations I’ve found myself in over the years. He’s gotten right down to the ‘brass tacks’ as my Mom used to say - never giving me any false expectations. His staff is great - usually Deborah gets me to my exam room and gets whatever I’m there for that visit set up for when Dr. Horan comes in. When he does come in, usually under 5 minutes, he always as a few minutes to chat with me so I have plenty of time to bring up any questions or problems I might be facing. Several years ago, my husband, who thankfully had never needed Dr. H’s professional services, was struck down with that flesh eating bacteria in Tampa Bay and… once he finally got under the care of an infectious disease doctor, he required several skin grafts to repair the area that was affected. Dr. H was not only knowledgeable enough, but nice enough, to spend a few extra minutes to explain skin grafting to my daughter and I, which really eased my mind a lot. He knew I especially, was stressed out over it and didn’t hesitate to put my worries to rest. So I cannot give Dr.Horan and his staff anything less than I five star review and urge anyone in the market for a first time or new orthopaedic doctor, to call Dr.H’s office. I have his number in my speed dial!

In 2005 I seen Dr Horan for my knee. I had some pain and called the office that afternoon late in the day nobody got back to me did the Dr get the message I don't know, the next day I had someone drive me to the office after no sleep. The women at the desk said we gave you pain medication and I told her it was not working for me and brought the bottle. I have nothing bad to say about the doctor because he have taken care of my issue. The mistake I made was not talking to the doctor about how I was treated by the women at the check in counter, she did not seem to care that I was in pain

Have seen this doc many times and am quite impressed with his willingness to spend time and answer questions in a thorough manner. He actually welcomes questions! His staff has been fabulous and very helpful. Short waits, long informative visits, can't do better than that. As an RN for many years, I believe he is very special.

Staff is rude and unprofessional.

The nurse didn't help me get the x-ray vest on. It hung off of me and didn't cover me. The call for the follow up was rude and argumentative. I did not return. I cant really remember my interaction with the doctor is was brief and mostly non vocal.

Total hip replacement went great felt very supported through entire process

Dr. Horan and his assistant were great. However, I did not care for the therapists in his office.

I would not go to him again in fact I feel it was a waist because I have to get a new doctor maybe he knows what he is doing but does not explain anything my 2 appointments consisted of 5 words he was in and out of room so fast my head spun.. First time I went in he saw xray but didn't say much I thought he just wanted more info so he sent me for MRI I figure this time more to talk about explain but no he walked in to room shook hand I brought up MRI he said I see inflammation I write script for anti inflamitory order Phys therapy walked out of room never came back! 10 mo of back pain hip pain I walk w a limp 50 dollar co pay and god knows how much my ins paid and that's the service I get! I had a back and hip MRI no explination of either.. I guess I not a big enough fish because I don't need surgery! When you walk in the first form he gives you is one asking if this is from an accident and that he gets his money! I should have walked out when I saw that.. Just so you know I have been… seen by a similar doctor who ran the practice well and explained everything even showing me the problem area! Don't waist your time find another doctor!
