Dr. John Michael Rayhack, MD

Dr. Rayhack’ s knowledge, approach to surgical care, and communication skills are extremely valued in today’s hectic health care environment. He performed carpal tunnel release surgery on me and I could not be more pleased with the result. I am a retired registered nurse with a PhD in nursing and can recognize high quality care when I “see” it. From my first contact with his office staff through my post surgical office visit, I received excellent care. I highly recommend Dr. Rayhack.

Seen Dr Rayhack for my index finger, my joint was swollen and painful all the time. I wanted a permanent fix and went ahead with surgery to fuse the joint and insert a rod. I could not be happier. Am about 6 weeks out now and I can use this finger again, I have no pain, and it’s straight again too. I definitely recommend Dr Rayhack , he explained the procedure well and all went as planned. So glad I did it, just wish I seen him sooner.

blotched surgery, I thought he was great until my last surgery which left me with pain and numbness 24/7 and 25% uselessness in my hand. This was immediately upon recovery. His comment was "that's unusual " and after several more trips he said there is nothing he can do for me..The sad thing is I really don't think he cared.

Last summer I broke my pinky finger. I first went to my primary doctor for the pain but was told I only had arthritis and there was nothing they could do for it. After two months of dealing with the pain, a nurse friend highly recommended Dr. John Rayhack. My friend said he was one of the best in the Tampa Bay area. I would certainly agree with his recommendation. Dr. Rayhack took his own set of X-rays and sent me for a CT scan to confirm his findings. Turns out I did break the bone as suspected, plus had lost cartilage as a result between the joints. Arthritis had begun to form around the joints as well. He attempted to splint my pinky for 8 weeks to avoid surgery, but after no improvement, we opted for a finger fusion on the joint. The surgery was exactly as he explained. I used prescription pain pills for about a day and a half, then went to Advil for a couple of days. 6 weeks post-surgery I have an excellent range of motion with no swelling or pain. I loved Dr. Rayhack and his… staff!! I would highly recommend him.

After experiencing pain, numbness, and weakness in my hands for quite some time, I contacted Dr. Rayhack's office and they were able to see me the very next day. Less than two weeks after that first visit and a few necessary pre-op tests, Dr. Rayhack performed double hand surgery (carpal tunnel release) as well as releasing a trigger finger for me. I was impressed with Dr. Rayhack's straightforward approach, his patience, and his kindness. I immediately felt at ease in his capable hands. Additionally, numerous other doctors and nurses at the hospital made comments like "You've got THE BEST hand surgeon! He is the surgeon that all of the other surgeons trust to do surgery on their own hands! When he decides to retire someday, we don't know what we'll all do then!" These comments from his colleagues certainly gave me additional confidence that I'd made the right choice in going to Dr. Rayhack. The surgery was painless, I was awake for it, and I got to go home a few hours later. … Post-surgery, I am no longer in pain and my hands are getting back up to speed as I do my exercises to strengthen my hands. Without hesitation, I would strongly recommend Dr. Rayhack and his very competent staff to anyone seeking hand/wrist surgery.
