Dr. Patsy J Mitchell, DO

Upon check-in, I was asked to pay a bizarre amount up front. Since it didn’t make sense, I simply asked if it could be submitted via insurance first. The receptionist went to ‘check on this’. Meanwhile (45 mins later), I'm seen by the nurse. As I'm waiting to see the doctor, the receptionist enters and tells me I will need to reschedule. Baffled, I asked if it was about the payment and offered to pay so that we could move forward. She said she’d check. She returned only to tell me I would need to leave and reschedule - no explanation. Wow. So I followed up with an email to the doctor, recapping what had happened – maybe she was not aware. ‘Customer Care’ then calls to tell me that due to my email the best course of action would be for me to “find a new doctor”. I’m sorry – what? They owed me an apology, not a dismissal. They then sent me a certified letter informing me I was no longer a patient. Patsy Mitchell and her staff were rude and downright unprofessional. Good riddance.

Her staff is very rude. INORMALLY HAD SEMIANNUAL CHECHUPS AND HER STAFF WANTED ME TO HAVE A WELLNESS CHECKUP OFFERED BY MEDICARE. WHEN i DECLINED ON THE BASIS THAT i HAD JUST HAD A CHECKUP FROM DR. MITCHELL and that the Medicare wellness checkup was voluntary THEY TOLD ME i WOULD HAVE TO GET ANOTHER DOCTOR.

Mitchell tried for years to make me believe I had a medical problem. Which I do not. I am relatively healthy for my age. I dealt with this because I only went to see her two or three times a year. The main problem is the staff. I scheduled appointments first thing in the morning to avoid waiting the hour or two to see the Doctor with later appointments. The front door is usually locked until after office hours begin, then you have to sit there and listen to the latest drama that is going on with the staff. My last appointment was the first appointment of the day-still had to wait to see Doctor. I ask the staff how long it would be, staff gave me some smart answer. When I did get into the Doctor's office, Mitchell said I was rude to the staff. I told her that was not the case but she did not acknowledge me. I told her she would never see me again. I left the office happily . I see from some of the other reviews the staff was their problem also. My opinion is the staff take their cue… from the employer. The bad ratings are a direct result of Mitchell's inability to respect her patients and to understand we have lives also and sitting in a Doctors office is not top of my list of fun things to do. I will not recommend anyone go to this office unless you like being disrespected.

Dr. Patsy has been my family physician for the past three years. She has been great! The whole staff is always kind and caring. I just happened to go to her when I first moved here. I feel blessed to have met her.

Made an appointment with Dr. Mitchell after reading about her work with diabetes and hbp. After 3 appointments, never saw her -- only the nurse practitioner. The office does not answer the phones and does not return phone calls. Additionally, they will reset appointments and then charge you for the formerly set appointments.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with her office staff. I contacted the office months ago and requested to become a patient. I filled out all the paperwork and mailed it to her. I also sent a request to my former physician to forward my records. After a considerable period, a staff member told me that the medical records from my last physician had not been received. Wrote a letter to my formal doctor, and waited weeks. Nothing. I'm now running out of prescription meds. Contacted Dr. Mitchell's office once again. "Yes, the medical records had been received from my old dr, but Dr. Mitchell has decided not to accept any more Medicare patients. They never called me, they never wrote me. They just let me wait and wait. I've found another doctor but must wait six weeks for the first appointment. I will be without necessary meds for weeks. I still can't get over the discourtesy of Dr. Mitchell and/or her staff of not contacting me so that a could look for another… doctor.

front office staff is HORRIBLE...if you can get to see the doctor you will love her!

After relocating to GA from NJ, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a doctor as good as the one I had in NJ, which I went to for about 25 years. Dr. Mitchell is just as good and even though the office is run a little "off", I am confident by the services provided by this doctor and would recommend her highly.

This is a physician who really listens to me and takes time to figure out what my problems are without rushing me.
