Dr. Paul Boone, MD

I have no idea how Dr Boone is unfortunately I can get no one to call me back for an appointment. I submitted a request online as well as leaving messages.

One year ago, I was at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona getting a physical and having my routine scan of my brain tumor. Everything checked out fine, little did I know 3 weeks later I would be at a level one trauma center and under the care of Dr. Boone and his team. I collapsed and started seizing. I was brought into St. Francis Hospital by ambulance. The neurologist that was on call came to me via video. She didn’t feel my tumor was the cause because I had just had it checked and dismissed herself from the case. Luckily for me, my husband and the ER doctor didn’t agree. As my seizures became so frequent, I didn’t know who anyone was. The ER doctor did a CAT scan and told my husband not only was my brain swollen but the tumor had grown significantly in 3 weeks. I was told later that St. Francis Hospital could not stabilize me and I was transported to Penrose Hospital, the local level one trauma hospital. Now mind you, I remember very little of what happened, I was seizing one after… another. I remember a lot of people in white coats coming in and out of my room and was placed in ICU. Fortunately for me Dr. Boone has a great surgical team. He had a visiting surgeon from LA, Dr. Noel, I was assigned to him. This neurological team, checked in on me often. The medication they gave me stabilized me enough to go into surgery. Dr. Noel performed the surgery and Dr. Boone has maintained my care since that day. I would highly recommend Dr. Boone and this fantastic team. They are on top of your care from start to finish. This team checks in on you and maintains a detailed record of what is going on in your care. After being discharged from the hospital, I went non-responsive 2 more times and was transported to St. Frances the first time and they didn’t keep Dr. Boone or Dr. Noel in the loop. The next time my husband demanded I be taken to Penrose, once again my surgical team was not notified. After seeing Dr. Boone several days later, he was able to reassure me that the ER doctor was wrong in the diagnoses and that I should be back on my meds that the ER doctor took me off. He had me see my Neurological doctor, who Dr. Bowser, on his team that controls my seizure meds. These were most likely seizures. Dr. Bowser confirmed they were seizures, and no more hospital ER visits for me. Having this skilled team is what made all the difference. I would not be alive today without them!

Dr Boone performed a multi level ACDF in 2015 and multi level lumbar fusion w/ hardware in 2016. He is a great Dr. Very professional and fantastic bedside manner. I felt very confident with him and my care. I would recommend Dr Boone if you have any unresolved neuro issues and get his advice.

DR. BOONE performed ACDF and relieved my neck pain inmediately . Awesome , professional , compassionate brilliant - neurosurgeon .

He is the most intelligent surgeon with a good bedside manner. Did a clean up from two other surgeons and did an excellent job!

Dr. Boone is a great doctor. He spent lots of time with me as a patient & my family also answered all of our questions. He is very reassuring. He is an excellent doctor in his field. He performed surgery on my back that turned out even better than I expected. I would definitely refer anyone to see him that needs a neurosurgeon... he is definitely the best!

After 1st visit, he wanted an MRI. I had it the same day. His nurse said he would call me. I called his office 3 days later, was told he will call. I called again 6 days later, was told he will call. I called again on the 7th day, was told he has the results and will call me. No call. Very unprofessional.

I had a very poor opinion of Dr. Boone's PA(K) that was apparently assigned to my case. She seemed completely unprepared and more or less unconcerned.

all symptoms completely relieved the first night after surgery. dr. boone is the best.
