Dr. Paul Allan Dowdy, MD

Doctor Dowdy performed my surgery after another doctor misdiagnosed my arm completely I believe God puts a blessing on this mans hands before he performs his work, You follow his follow up treatment and you have been touched by an Angel, I know I will recommend him to anyone, he spent three hours to repair my broken shoulder and forearm.

Very rude and unhelpful staff, lousy dr. and poor result in TKR.3

My fifteen year old daughter was a patient of Dr. Dowdy's. He discontinued my daughter's surgery and dropped her as a patient due to non payment of her surgery. His office staff had never discussed all options available and the costs with me, so prior to her surgery,I asked them to prepare a financial estimate and discuss the out of pocket costs with me prior to making a decision as to whether we were going to have her in a cast or have surgery done to repair her broken leg and ankle. I was told by his employee, Jen a day prior to my daughters surgery that she had forgotten to get the estimate for the cast and she actually gave the codes for finding out the cost to my ex husband to find out rather than doing her job and obtaining the estimate for us. I was told that we had until noon the day prior to her surgery to make the payment. The codes were not given to my ex husband until 1130 that day. I told Jen that I would call her right back with the payment for the surgery. She told me to… take all the time that I needed due to her error. I receive a call not two minutes after ending my call with Jen from the office manager, Robert. He stated that Dr. Dowdy was refusing to care for my daughter due to the payment not being received by noon. I explained the discussion that I had with Jen not two minutes prior and that she was fully aware of why the surgery fee had not been paid by noon. He stated that the decision was made and that I needed to find another doctor. This was after my fifteen year old daughter has been in extreme pain for a week with a temporary splint on her broken leg and ankle. After speaking with Robert, I called Jen to ask her what was going on. She stated that she had no control over his decision. I asked her why she did not let the doctor know that she did not do her part in getting me the information needed for me to make an informed decision regarding the costs of a cast versus surgery for my daughters leg and ankle. She was fully aware that we were not given the medical codes to obtain the information until 1130 today. Jen stated that she did not know what to tell me. Now, I have my daughter in pain, in need of surgery and have no doctor to repair her leg. This doctor and his staff are unprofessional and are the most unorganized practice that I have ever dealt with. I would never recommend this doctor or their facility to anyone that needs prompt care and treatment for their child.

Dr. Dowdy replaced my hip and did an amazing job.

dr dowdy has done 2 surgeries on my shoulder He has always explained everything to be in detail..Makes me feel completely at ease. His staff is always friendly and help in any way they can. Would go back to him if I had to even with office a distance away

I went to Dr.Dowdy's recently and I found the staff the be wonderful. The front desk had a smile and was courteous while the medical assistants seemed to love what they do!

Dr. Dowdy does not give enough time to his patients, and he misdiagnosed me and made my situation worse. He doesn't care about his patients or the quality of his work, he just cares about money. I wouldn't recommend anyone to see him.

I was impressed enough with Dr. Dowdy to recommend him to my sister for knee surgery and I am going back to him for a second surgery to correct what another doctor did wrong.
