Dr. Paul B Ramilo, MD

Tuesday the 3rd I went to a infectious disease specialist that someone referred me to, I don’t really know if they knew them. I was diagnosed with a Tick borne illness and I was referred by Kathy’s (my sister) Primary physician. I was nervous about going because in the past I have had so many problems getting diagnosed properly for my illness. On numerous occasions I had nurses friends to my symptoms and tell me I had lymes disease. When I got to the office I filled out my paperwork and I was waiting in the room for the doctor which was Dr. Ramilo of 3700 Sedgwick Drive Fairfax VA. As soon as he sat down I noticed something odd, he turned his side to me and wouldn’t look at me. He laid his arm on then put his head on his arm.counter He started looking up in the air and he asked me a couple questions and then when I started answering immediately he started rolling his eyes and moving his hand in a awkward way as though he was annoyed. He kept shifting his body like he was annoyed, he… continued to do this shifting of his weight trying to make it evident he didn’t want to hear me. He moved his hand in that blah blah blah hand motion. So then he turns to me and says, “look there’s nothing I can do for you”. I said excuse me? Yes! I said there’s nothing I can do for you, you got your medicine and there’s nothing else we can do. He was totally rude with me and he treated me with total disrespect. He opened the door and pointed the way out. Needless to say I left his office in tears.

Dr. Ramillo is a stand out in the profession. He takes the needed time to talk to you about what’s going on & doesn’t rush or discount your feelings or thoughts. Compassionate, knowledgeable and has a sense of humor.

I spoke to Dr. Ramilo on the phone yesterday about specific information and today his office manager says he told her that he never told me what he told me yesterday. I'm not stupid, nor would I make up something so ridiculous. He just did not want to help someone with a disability. Typical medical profession, they want to be done with you, they cast you aside.

Dr Tamilo worked with my son who was diagnosed with Lyme disease before we came to him, he worked with us in every way and was very supportive, he gave my son a longer course of antibiotics, my son is now doing well!! God bless you!!!Thank you, Dr Ramilo

Not impressed with Dr. Ramilo at all! I've been having many issues, many of which are symptoms of Lyme's, RA, Lupus, etc. Iwas getting nowhere with my family doctor, but he did give me a referal. I did not get to see Dr. Soni, who had great reviews on Lyme's websites. Dr. Ramilo finallycame in the room 25 minutes late. I had been there for 30 minutes to fill out paperwork prior to the appointment. He asked what he could do, I explained my situation and that I understood the Lyme's tests are frequently not accurate. He asked if I had been tested, I told him yes, several times all negative. He asked me , "What do you want me to do?". I gave him a list of my symptoms, which he barely glanced at and told me he'd do bloodwork and refer me to a Rheumatologist if he didn't find anything and to call back on Tuesday for results. He never got within 4-5 feet of me or looked at the skin ulcers covering my legs. I called back on Tuesday and was told the MRSA was negative. I asked if he had… written a referal, he had not. Never heard back from them. Called on Friday and left a message asking for the referal. Finally got it. I would certainly not reccomend Dr. Ramilo. He did not seem remotely interested in helping me at all!

I saw Dr Ramilo for only 10 min. He barely read or listened to my questions or medical history and said I had an infection as bad as MRSA. He then left the room. Next, an assistant came in to tell me about IV therapy for 4 weeks with a pick line to be inserted at another facility, with no explanation of what medication or why. I then waited 15 min for the doctor to return, had to ask where he was, and was told he went home. However, they said I could talk to him by phone. I then left the office, upset,, firmly saying I would never return and that the care was awful. Dr Ramilo still sent in incorrect orders to the pharmacy even though I am not his patient. I'm still trying to correct these mistakes. I have since seen an excellent physician and improved with one week of peripheral IV medication.

Dr. Ramilo took a vested interest in my health. Even when I called the on-call doctor one evening, he happened to be the one to call me and he remembered all about my situation. I trusted him over my other specialists. And the woman who took my blood was amazing. Hardly felt a thing. When calling to ask for assistance, though, his manager was very rude.

I have seen 6 different doctors for a condition and he was able to talk me through it tell me was of preventing it and not trying to get every dime out of me. He actually listened to me.
