I recently went to BRICK WOMANS PHYSICIANS. Dr VETTER made me so uncomfortable about nursing. He told me that I need to wean my daughter immediately. I mentioned to him that she doesn’t even take a bottle and he said I better get her to now. He told me to go buy formula on my way home from the appointment. I asked what the reason was and if we could discuss this further. He said breastfeeding while pregnant causes miscarriages and his office will not support it at all. I was so upset leaving he made me feel like I was doing something wrong.. I also had an ultrasound scheduled and I got a call the day or two beforehand saying that everyone else cancelled and the dr won’t come in just to see me so I need to reschedule. I got home and I called 3 or 4 more Obgyns, one I liked and agreed to see me while I was nursing. On the phone with the last one, when I asked the receptionist she instantly got the dr to ask her, the dr said to look at it like if we were in another country, no one would… EVER think to make you stop feeding one kid to grow another. You feed them or they don’t eat. So I made the appointment there. 15+ weeks later I’m still nursing and baby is doing fine. Now I get a $500 bill in the mail and a phone call tonight. I explain all of the above and how I needed to find a new dr and pay this dr everything all over again so I didn’t feel like it was fair to pay the $500 for such horrible service. I spoke to the finance department explaining my situation and how I was not comfortable giving them another almost $500 due to the way I was treated and what I was told. I was transferred to a woman named Teresa and when I tried explaining what happened to her she told me it’s not their problem I still need to pay and cut me off after every single word I tried to say. Said she’s sending me straight to collections and I couldn’t speak to a manager or the Dr. I told her she was being a b**** to me and not letting me even speak and she told me i was a b**** and hung up on me. Great customer service. And now of course, this Dr is “on vacation” when I called back. But I’m now awaiting his partner to call me. If I don’t receive a call back by morning I will go down to the office and speak to someone in person. Disgusting how a pregnant woman gets treated by a DOCTOR FOR PREGNANT WOMAN.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vetter for over 15 years. No real issues until now, besides the fact that sometimes the front desk is a little curt and sometimes the doc seems a bit rushed. However, at my last visit, I expressed an interest in going on birth control. He asked me if I had ever taken it before - I said yes, when I was about 19 (so over 12 years ago). He asked what I had taken then, and I said, "Orthotricyclin" or however you spell it. He said, "Okay, I'm going to give you Trinessa" and hands me an Rx for that. I was appalled. I'm discussing putting hormones into my body, and family planning, and at no point did I feel like he believed these were serious decisions. He did not ask about my plans for the future regarding children (Do I want children at some point? If so, when? Next 2 years? Next 5?) He did not discuss various methods like the pill, the patch, NuvaRing, injections, or an IUD. He did not ask about concerns many people have regarding putting hormones… into their body - weight gain...acne....mood swings....etc. As it turns out, the Trinessa turned me into a hormonal monster. I had bouts of absolute rage. I understand finding the right type of birth control is not easy, but the fact that he discussed NOTHING with me, other than what I had previously taken, is appalling.

Dr. Vetter feels he is too important to call back a patient....he sends via their patient portal messages like 'need a biopsy' doesn't even think that this is important enough to warrant a phone call to the patient....the nurse calls and when you ask her why she has no clue - the staff is rude and uncaring....despite the flowery messages that you hear when you are on hold......

My wife went here for a long time and loves the doctor. When her insurance changed her boss told her to call all the doctors to make sure the plan was accepted before they migrated to it. She called and asked for the office manager but the receptionist insisted that she did not need the office manager and she could verify the plan with her. Of course the receptionist said yes. My wife hung up and her boss told her to call back and talk to the right person. She did and the receptionist got mad that she was calling again. My wife explained that she needed to be certain and the lady repeated the plan back to her and said yes they do accept it. After a few visits and some kind of procedure the office notified my wife that the insurance was not accepted after all and that she would be responsible for the bill. She pleaded with them explaining that they assured her twice that the insurance was accepted but they offered no recourse other than paying the bill out of pocket. Here is… where it gets completely unacceptable. Because my wife had me listed as her emergency contact this woman in the office starts calling me to harass me about the bill. I don't know about you but I do not want any of my doctors airing my dirty laundry to friends or relatives or anyone for that matter. First I explained that I felt this call was not an emergency and therefore she should not be using this number. I told her that we will pay it when we can but for right now it is low on the list of priorities. We have a newborn at home and my wife has been home for several months. She actually told me that we had better pay or we would be in trouble since they would send it to collections. I explained to her that this is an unusual situation since my wife did her due diligence to ensure coverage and they dropped the ball. I feel the right thing to do is to own the mistake or in the very least be very understanding with payment options. The woman said we are all responsible for our own insurance and the office is not liable. She demanded half of the bill and threatened to send it to collections again. I cannot imagine treating a client of mine this way and I advise you to stay away from this place. If I tell a client something and it doesn't happen I won my mistake instead of telling them they should have gotten the answer elsewhere. They do not care about their patients and that is the bottom line. If they did they would say that these are extenuating circumstances and work it out instead of threatening patients and calling your emergency contacts.

I really liked Dr. Vetter. He was so compassionate and made me feel at ease.
