Dr. Peer Dar, MD

My experience at Montefiore with Dr.Dar was very unpleasant. Due to the fact I didn’t want to take the genetic amniocentesis testing every ultrasound visit got worse and worse with bad news from him which forced me to feel I had no choice but to take it. They made me believe my fetus had chromosomes abnormalities and stated it was best I take the test before 23 week if need to terminate my pregnancy by 26 weeks which made me feel so bad because termination wasn’t an option of mines regardless of the outcome. After taking the test my chromosomes test came back normal. During a visit he debated with the ultrasound technician in front of my significant other and I on the technician finding because it didnt coincide with the heart condition he was trying to diagnose my fetus with. When I asked if he can explain to me what they were debating about he refused to inform me. Every visit he would edit over the technicians reviews and findings to his own opinion. I noticed often the bad news he… was giving me he wasn’t adding it to his notes for example “the life span of my fetus inside my womb” so ill able to see on my mychart account. Everything was word of mouth and often he would sign his notes very late in the weeks later so I wouldn’t get my doctor visit reports til weeks later. After referring me to an cardiologist specialist through Montefiore when the specialist didn’t agree to his findings he got very agitated stating he knew his findings to be true and proceeded to continue to add those diagnoses to my chart after reading the cardiologist report. I went for a second cardiologist opinion and that doctor as well agreed to the first cardiologist. I started to become very overwhelmed and depressed seeing him and eventually switched to a different hospital overall. The high risk doctor, genetic and ultrasound MD doctors in Montefiore all work hand and hand so whatever the ultrasound MD says is what goes. I honestly feel they were milking my insurance by forcing me to take repeated testing, ultrasound visits and unnecessary testing for their benefit. I tired to look for other reviews from patients and I noticed he has more experience in research then actually hands on experience with patient care. It seems like every patient in the clinic was leaving his office very sad receiving bad news nobody seemed happy at all.

After repeatedly telling the physician I wouldn’t want to terminate my pregnancy, he still pushed the subject of termination and continued to give me all cons without respecting my decision.

Terrible bedside manner and delivery of bad news. Very insensitive with ultrasound probe. I would never go there again.

I had a serious issue with the kidneys in the fetus. I was 18wk preg and dr dar was so caring efficient and accurate. I truly appreciate all he has done for me and my husband.
