Dr. Peter Wesley Corrigan, MD

I had a terrible experience with this Dr at Huntington ER. If you are assigned this Dr I would highly suggested requesting a different one!!!! I will expand on my experience but essentially he has horrible bed side manner, does not explain why tests are needed, and I believe he is unethical by over testing and keeping patients longer than needed in the ER for more money. If you are reading this remember it is important to stand up for yourself or your child and not to let doctors bully you into things you are not comfortable with. Long explanation below but if you’re being evaluated by this doctor I would suggest reading this. I brought my 2 month old son into the ER for a fever. He needed a urine sample from my son and a chest xray which was provided. We waited for 5 hrs when he walked in requesting another urine sample without explaining why a second test was needed. After I told him I was not having my son continue unnecessary tests, he proceeded to tell me they made a mistake and… did the urine test wrong and it was potentially contaminated (interesting how this was not told to me upfront. I agreed to a second urine test for my son and we found out he was diagnosed with a UTI (which caused the fever) At this point I had been in the ER for 6 hours and Dr Corrigan was still claiming additional tests (blood work) were needed but yet no one came in to test my son. At this point I said I wanted to leave the ER because my 2 month old had already been diagnosed with a UTI and I preferred to have him follow up with his pediatrician instead of staying in the ER all night long. I did not want to risk my 2 month old catching something else in the ER while we waited. Dr Corrigan argued with me saying my son needs to stay for additional tests. I told him no. I asked for a pediatric doctor instead to evaluate my son. She was AMAZING! She said she thought my son would be okay to leave and to follow up with his pediatrician. Even with the pediatric doctor saying that, Dr Corrigan STILL wanted me to stay at which point I asked him if he was trying to make me stay longer to charge insurance more money. He did not like that very much. I wasn’t even required to sign an AMA to leave. He sent in a social worker because I was requesting to leave (even tho another doctor said it was fine) I believe he did that because he was upset with me and was trying to scare me into staying in the ER. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the care my son received. I will not go back to this hospital and definitely never want to experience this doctor again. He does not care about his patients.

OMG, i’m not sure how he got his degree this guy doesn’t know nothing about medicine and he doesn’t know anything about fixing his hair or his clothes as well seriously, we thought he’s the janitor. He have no information to give. He gives you the results before he check the blood test results and just try to get rid of you as soon as possible, I feel so sorry for all the patience that’s going to be under his hand
