Dr. Peter Gearhart, MD

I went to the practice that Dr. Gearhart is at for my first pregnancy last year and saw a different Dr. and had a wonderful experience. I called to make my first appointment for my new pregnancy and was told Dr. Gearhart was the soonest appointment I could get so I went ahead and scheduled. It being my first appointment, I was anxious to know the viability of the pregnancy. I was brought back to the room and told Dr. Gearhart was running a little late. Almost 2 hours later he still did not show. About $20 in parking later, a missed meeting and a ball of nerves given it was my first appointment, I was left sitting there with zero scan, explanation or anything. I took the effort to be on time and this jerk of a Dr. wasted 2 hours of my time. Do NOT see him as there are many other providers in this practice. He clearly does not value his patients or their time.

I started seeing Dr. Gearhart earlier this year when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. At every appointment he was very lax and would tell me that I was extremely low risk and even insisted I see him every 6 to 8 weeks instead of every 4 weeks that’s recommended during pregnancy.??He failed to tell me that I ?had a short cervix after reviewing my 20 week ultrasound. ?Due to his carelessness I was not eligible for any treatment because I only went for a second opinion at 27 weeks. He caused me and my family so much pain and suffering during my third trimester. I was put on bed rest and was told that I was at high risk for premature delivery. I tried contacting Dr. Gearhart 11 times to receive an explanation as to why he never discussed my condition with me and did not treat me appropriately. Till this day I have not received a callback from Dr. Gearhart. I would avoid seeing this doctor at all costs as he is extremely careless and does not care about his patients.

Pros: Straight Forward, Quick but thorough, friendly, caring, spends time with his patients, beautiful views in the waiting area, clean Cons: Expect to wait an hour for each of your appointments, some of the nurses get short with you when you ask about the wait time

Dr Gearhart is absolutely amazing. His care and compassion for his patients showed me that there are still Dr's out there that are in this profession for more reasons than just the money. I have NOTHING bad to say about him or his staff. I was very blessed to have him as my Dr for a very difficult situation.

My only gripe is the wait time. The wait is forever. I suggest getting the first appointment in the morning or the first one after lunch.

Gearhart is an excellent, caring, smart doctor. But the office is very poorly run and he always runs 1.5 hours late (at least). While Gearhart is a wonderful doctor, you should prepare for the challenges of long wait times and a rude, disorganized office staff.

overall experience with Dr Gearhart is great. He has always listened to me and answered all my questions and concerns. He is a very nice person, and a professional. I'm glad he is my doctor.

both my babies were born with dr gearhart. he definitely enjoys his job and the experience was good. everyone i encountered was knowledgable and nice.

Dr. Gearhart is absolutely worth his weight in gold! He delivered my daughter and I was terrified because there was no time for an IV or epidural. He was very soothing while I was giving birth and made the experience very good. He answered my questions and deals with my concerns. I am currently pregnant, and hopefully he will be the one to deliver my daughter. I say this because I am going to ensure that when he is oncall at the maternity ward, I will be there getting induced. I would recommend him to anyone.
