Peter Henning Sayre, MD

I have been Dr. Sayre's patient for over 18 years. We have a comfortable relationship. He is thorough, treats me as a whole body rather than just a cancer patient.

Dr. Sayre is and has been a very good doctor. He listens to my concerns. His explanations are thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr Sayre was excellent...not very good. He was very knowledgeable and explained the test results and ask a lot of relevant questions. Answered my questions and concerns.

I have been a patient of Doctor Sayre for 5 years. During that period the course of my disease has had several ups and downs. Doctor Sayre has diligently worked to resolve the issues and given me hope for a future that has finally been fulfilled. There have been a few times when I have had to wait an hour or two after my appointment time to see Doctor Sayre, but there have also been several times when Doctor Sayre was called away from his other patients to work to save my life. Those occasions undoubtedly resulted in him being late to his normal scheduled appointments. I am sure that there are times his efforts to save a patient are not successful and a patient that he has cared for passes away. I have experienced the care and concern that Doctor Sayre has for his patients personally when on several occasions when I was very sick and in the hospital I would awake late at night and Doctor Sayre was there discussing my condition and treatment with the night time staff or… reviewing my chart and when he noticed I was awake he would explain what was happening and give me encouragement. Because of these experiences I can forgive the few times when he been less than his normal cheery self and is more professional in his demeanor. My experience is that in the more than a hundred appointments I have had with Doctor Sayre in clinic I have always received the care I needed and have gotten careful and through discussions of my condition and the treatment alternatives if and when I needed them.

Dr Sayer has a wonderful bedside manner. He is treating my daughter and is just wonderful at explaining the situation. The dialogue between his staff including the pediatric oncology dept and our family is great. He is a very intelligent human being and his mannerism of speaking to us and presentation is just what we expect. We understand what is being set before us on this long journey. My appointment was for 12:30 and he didn't come into my examination room until 3:55. He gave no apology or explanation. What he did give me, though, was a cursory physical examination and the bum's rush. What an incredibly rude man. Maybe he was having a bad day, but why take it out on me?
