Gosh, where to begin? To open, this is a conversation he and I had prior to a Fallopian tube cyst removal: “The nurse told me to expect several puncture wounds to my stomach?" "Abdomen. Women insist on calling this whole area the stomach.” I should have run then. He and my primary OBGYN insisted the pain I was feeling was not from a cyst, which I had informed them I had before on the same side where I was feeling pain, but from weight-related issues. By the time my surgery took place, I ended up having a cyst on my Fallopian tube 3x the size of my ovary. His staff told me to take ibuprofen for pain and did not tell me this could cause a bleeding hazard or when to stop taking ibuprofen, so my surgery was ultimately postponed. In a post-op appointment a few weeks later, I asked for an explanation of the specifics of what he had to do, as the surgery was largely exploratory. He was frustrated by follow up questions and to this day, I’m still not totally clear on what was… done. As a woman who was living alone, unsure of how I was going to pay for this surgery, who was going to help take care of me after surgery, and if I was going to be financially impacted by time out of work, I cried openly during one appointment. His answer was to complain about how little money he earns per surgery. Run, don’t walk out of his OR.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING DR SCHKLAIR FOR YOUR OB, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS. I had a very easy pregnancy. Dr. Schklair's NPs are both wonderful and were great at my appts. During the appts with Dr. Schklair, he always seemed in a hurry and literally was in and out of the room within 1-2 minutes. When I asked questions, he gave quick answers and seemed as though he just wanted to leave the room and move onto the next. After a healthy and easy pregnancy, I also had a textbook labor. I began labor signs two days before my delivery. All was well up until the doctor came in and told me it was time to push. Not only did he rush me, but he gave me an unnecessary episiotomy and then because the monitor came off of my stomach, rather than fix it to see the baby's heart and my contractions, he decided he "needed" to VACUUM DELIVER my little 6 pound baby after I only pushed 3 times. He had joked 20 minutes before that about how he would make his afternoon meeting after all.… Little did I know, he was going to suck the baby out of me. The vacuum delivery led to an additional 4th degree tear. He stitched me up poorly which resulted in even MORE complications (horrific ones) during my recovery. One week later I was back in his office for the LAST time. I ended up leaving his office and seeing a urogyn in Fayetteville to have REPAIR surgery done 6 weeks post partum in order to fix the mess Dr. Schklair left behind. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DO YOUR RESEARCH AND FIND A DOCTOR WHO PUTS PATIENT CARE BEFORE THEIR OWN AGENDA!!!!!

I went in for my consultation before having my procedure today Dr. Schklair and his staff went above & beyond to accommodate me. The Dr. answered any questions I had ,,,gave me a complete explanation of procedures I need now & may need in the future. I did not feel rushed or my feelings ignored at all. He was very understanding to my needs & concerns. I felt very comfortable knowing he will be doing my future procedures. His nurse & staff were very friendly & thoughtful/accommodating to scheduling. My wait time was a bit longer ,only because we arrived too early. No complaints at all w/ my 1st meeting.

The staff here is extremely rude except for 1 person. They seem like you are a huge inconvenience to them.

He recommended that I go see the perinatal center in Syracuse because I'm a high risk pregnancy. After I see them and they tell him they want to do shared care so I don't have to drive out to Syracuse every week for my progesterone shots, he drags his feet, but then tells me that's fine. When they call him to confirm (ten minutes later), he says he won't do it and transfers all of my care out to them. This forces me to drive out to Syracuse (2 hours round trip) every week (which I have a day time job and can't do) or do them myself (which I'm forced to do now). He had a very negative attitude and was very short with me once I said I wanted a natural birth, which he can't do, because it's a VBAC. He didn't seem interested in talking or getting to know me before that either. Staff there was friendly, but you could tell he had to pretend to be.

The doctor doesn't listen to me. His staff is very rude if you disagree or question the need for a test or consult. At one point the doctor started washing his hands and walked out while i was in mid sentence.

He is not very considerate to women's feelings,bad bedside manner and is loaded with snarky comments and eye rolls if your situation isn't fitting his day.He blabs your personal business out in the hall for everyone to hear.I would not recommend him based solely on the fact that pregnant woman need a loving,caring doctor who can check arrogance at the door.I always felt uneasy as soon as he entered the room.

He has blown off many of my friends and family member's problems as nothing, when there are serious problems going on with pregnancy, and they aren't discovered until MUCH later, usually by a different doctor. I do NOT recommend him! At all!

he gave me an emergency c section .the staples that he put in had so many gaps that it took me 5 months to heal.i would not recommend him to anyone .everything he does is awfully quick and i have still not been able to recuperate completely.awe full.
