Dr. Peter Scott Schwartz, MD

My children have been going to see Dr. Schwartz for many years. Recently, we have had a serious problem with the attitude of front desk staff. The front desk person- Brittany- could not be more rude. I will never return to that office. She should be fired.

I spent over $700 on glasses and I can't see out of them. The staff's response "were they way down on your nose when I marked them for the bifocals?"?!?!?! The eye dr was kind enough to have them redone, but that did not help. They were unwilling to work with me - so I have glasses that I can not see out of. The reception staff are rude and unable to answer questions. They seem very disorganized. And, they were unwilling to submit my glasses or contact claims to my insurance, even though they are an in-newtwork provider. I won't go back.

Office staff says one thing and then another. They threw me into a panic attack, because everything I was told last appointment was the opposite of what they said this time. They wouldn't let me pay when I wanted to, and then sent me a bill with a non-payment fee attached. They gave me instructions for eye drops. This time, they said I was supposed to be doing it differently. I thought my appointment was an hour before it was, because last time they told me that it was at 10. No one told me that I would have to wait an hour. It's Dec. 20th I could have gotten in some Christmas shopping instead of going home and dealing with the panic.

Dr. Schwartz is an amazingly qualified and capable doctor to have in little old Ithaca

Outstanding experience with Dr. Schwartz. Thorough, accurate, and personable.

I was one of his first 10 patients when he first opened an office in Ithaca. Super diagnostic skills. Takes all the time you want/need. "bedside" manners are superb. Patient is not put through the usual "mill" of technicians found at many Opthal offices where the MD takes a quick look at the tech reports, and a quick look at the eyes. He is thorough. Also did cataract implants for me. Now has a woman MD associate, also an on-site optician but absolutely no pressure to use him/her. Very highly recommended.
