Dr. Philip Nana Adjei, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Adjie for 20 years. In this time he has dealt with a rare condition that I have that mimics numerous diseases and creates complete havoc to the digestive system. Due to the complexity of it all not many Drs want to deal with it. Dr Adjie never ran but rather stood by my side all along. He has sent me to all of the best hospitals to verify that we have covered all bases. Never have I felt he could have done better on anything because he has never left any stone uncovered. When things have been outside of his practice he has referred me to someone equal to himself where I felt equally comfortable. If you’re looking for a Gastroenterologist who does not go overboard with unnecessary testing, who listens and understands that each patient is not textbook, has compassion and a wonderful bed side manner then look no further. I have entrusted my life with this Dr and believe me I’ve been to the University of Chicago, University of Illinois, Northwestern, Loyola and… Milwaukee so I’ve seen plenty! All I can say is Dr Adjie cares for his patients as if they were family, that says everything.

I have been a patient of Dr. Adjei's for over 10 years. He takes the time to answer questions. I have never felt rushed during an appointment with him, which in today's world, is unusual. He is friendly and has a sense of humor! He is the only doctor that I have that phones me personally with test results, even when the results/biopsies are negative. He is great following up. I can't say enough positive things about him.

I had been referred to a surgeon who specialized in a particular procedure to solve a long standing problem, and was a complete success. Have dealt with this issue for many years. Dr. Adjei always takes the time to listen and does not over test or treat without an agreed upon discussion.

I wanted my procedure to be performed at the hospital however this doctor told me that my insurance would cover more of the cost at his facility. This facility does not take my insurance so I ended up with a big portion of the bill. After my procedure, I never saw the doctor. A nurse sat me up very high in my bed and got my husband from the waiting area. Then she took my IV out of my right arm and that was the last I saw of anyone. My husband helped me get dressed and as we were leaving I asked I believe it was a nurse to see my doctor, however she did not know where he was. She handed me a bunch of paper work and I ended up calling the doctor that night because I had a small amount of blood coming from my throat. Since then I still have a sore throat and can't seem to get rid of it. My husband had an endoscopy at the hospital 2 weeks ago and still no word from the doctor. When he called the office they told him the results are not complete and the hospital will fax them to… their office when they are. After he hung up with the office, my husband called the hospital and he was advised that the results are in and that he needs to fill out a consent form in order for them to fax the results to him. Still haven't heard from the doctor.
