Dr. Philip Ross Burke, MD

Dr Burke was professional, accurate and competent. I recommend him highly. Unfortunately, one of his staff was a problem in that she did not return phone calls, inaccurately billed my insurance company, and was rude to me on the phone when I identified errors on a mailed document.

I've been seeing Dr. Burke for a year and a half and have found him to be very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He is always prompt, available and understanding.

Very easy to get an appointment, other docs never even called me back. Didn't have to wait, was seen on time. Didn't feel like he was a pill-pusher. Seemed very knowledgeable.

I've seen Dr. Burke now for 5 years and have always found him to be highly professional. He is one of the few doctors I feel takes the time to listen and doesn't rush be out the door. In the past I've seen other psychiatrists who only spent 10 minutes with me. I'm very happy to have more time with this doctor.

RUDE, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER MET SUCH AN ANGRY, MAN. HE HATES HIS PATIENTS.NEVER FELT COMFORTABLE AND HE PRESCRIBE TWO MEDS THAT WERE NOT COMPADABLE. THE PHARMACY TOLD ME THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED A DANGEROUS COMBINATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS INCOMPEDIDENT DOCTOR BEFORE.

Very thorough doctor. Did not feel rushed during the visit. Took the time explain things to me and answer questions. Recommend him highly.

I could not understand why this doctor kept harassing me about my Congestive Heart Failure. He kept telling me I was putting on weight because I was eating too much and not exercising enough. With congestive heart rate failure you put on weight because of the fluid, you have to weigh yourself every day. As well, you cannot exercise very much because you are so short of breath. He told me to stay away from doctors. Now I realize that he thinks it's all in my head, and I will have to get my cardiologist to write him a note confirming that I have CHF.

Dr. Burke is very good. He is not one of those psychiatrists who keeps asking "how does that make you feel?" - which I found so frustrating. He asked me to set goals and helped me make a plan for achieving them. He can be very direct and this can be offputting at times. Yet it forced me to be more honest and helped me recognize where I was lying to myself. If you are serious about getting to the botttom of things and making a change, this is a good shrink to see.

My brother recommended I go see him because Dr. Burke helped him during his divorce. I did't know what to expect. I found him to be very helpful. He discussed several different medications with me and also sent me to another person to do talk therapy. I feel a lot better now and don't get panic attacks any more.

Impersonal, matter-of-fact and short on insight. Does not help in understanding condition and is overly conservative with medication. Does not recall details correctly from prior appointments and lacks a good "bedside manner".
