Dr. Philip Getson, DO

I was a patient for over 20 years. In that time I have experienced long wait times, absolutely no follow up care, and a general disinterest in me as a patient. I was seen every 4 to 6 weeks for the past 10+ years for pain management. I haven't had a diagnostic scan since the early 2000's. I was stable on the meds but was concerned about the lack of follow up care. I never had a physical examination. Most visits were just a chat about life in general, nothing specific to my medical needs. I was very rarely seen for anything other, e.g. primary care. I didn't loose scripts. I didn't call the office with problems. I just went as required every 4 - 6 weeks. Occasionally, I would request a lidocaine shot in my shoulder, which would be met with an attitude of me being bothersome. Then I had a primary care problem. The office staff was disinterested, at best. I ended up going to urgent care. Urgent Care recommended follow up with a specialist. The specialist required follow up… studies before being seen. I called Dr. Getson, who I've been seeing for over 20 years, for the study script. The office staff, then the doctor himself, said to get it from the specialist. I urged they just write the script for the follow up study. And for all of my years of being what I consider to be a good patient, I was discharged from the practice! For an U/S script! Seriously!?! I would not recommend this doctor!

I was employed in the healthcare field since 1973 prior to that a candy striper (volunteer) which means that I have worked with numerous Doctors, but I can't say that anyone of them are what I consider a "True Physician". Dr. Getson is everything you want from a physician and more.

I found the doctor to be very uncaring and also his bedside manners made me feel very uncomfortable I would not recommend him to others his staff is very uncaring rude and not dressed appropriately in sweats and jeans no scrubs on anyone. Also the doctors comments made me very uncomfortable.
