Dr. Phillip Wesley Hayes, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Hayes since moving to NJ 5 years ago and I must say the first year was pretty good and it's been downhill since. Last year during my annual visit, after all was completed he asked do you have any questions. I actually did have one question related to my visit and my health. A month later I receive a bill from the hospital that my insurance would not cover because he charged me for 2 visits. I called Penn medicine to ask why the additional charge and their response was you asked a question during your visit questions are not a part of the routine annual exam. Therefore you were charged for an additional visit. I have never in my life heard of such thing. I cannot ask a questions about my personal health to my personal doctor during my annual visit when he asked me if I have questions. The lady I spoke with said, don;t ask questions next time. Unbelievable. Now this I thought was my last dealing, but I had my first Mammo this year and the results came back where I… needed additional testing.I had to wait over 2 months for this office to fax a prescription to the radiologist. I finally get them to fax the prescription over and now I have to go in for a biopsy. I am now waiting for them to fax this prescription over. I call everyday and I can't put my health on the line to wait for a non-responsive doctor. Oh and do not ever expect him to go over any test results with you or follow-up on anything. You are your own doctor with Penn Medicine. I am highly disappointed with Dr. Hayes and his staff at Penn Medicine. I am looking for a new doctor now.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Hayes he really put my mind to ease when I was dealing with a serious health situation. He treats you like a patient not a number. I cannot say that Dr. Hayes does not listen to the patients, He is an angel in action.
