Went to Middletown medical urgent care cause I felt a pop and tear feeling in my bi cep in my left arm they put me in a sling and said we are making a appointment with a orthopedic got me same day appointment as emergency with dr desani he took a look at my arm and said without even having a mri you aregoing to need surgery my tendon is tore off connecting my bi cep muscle to my elbow explained in terms I could understand and showed me on computer it has to be done within two weeks to avoid further damage or permanent damage and what needs to be done to repair it took the time to speak to my wife by video call cause I called her freakin out and explained everything to her as well all the staff was extremely helpfull and kept me calm as I was very upset we were supposed to to leave on vacation in a few days he said I’m sorrry my friend this needs to be done right away while my wife was on phone and my wife said no vacation I was trying to postpone it till after but he… explained and showed me on computer how soon after injury this has to be done to avoid more damage got all pre surgery testing done that day and rest next day called me the next day with mri results and it was exactly what he thought schedule surgery within a week of injury so far he has been great and very professional as well as his nurse and staff we will see how surgery goes thank you dr desani and staff for the professional and quick action

Dr. P Desai was an orthopedic surgeon in Liberal, KS. My experience with Dr. Desai was always impressive. It is my belief that Dr. Desai treats patients with respect, only recommending necesarry treatments, and seems to believe that it takes time for the body to heal itself; there is no need for surgery. I was disappointed to learn he left Liberal, KS but I am very excited for Dr. Desai and his family to have the opportunity to help so many in a diverse community.

What a terrible experience. I had a spiral fracture of the ring finger. My only contact with the ?MD was during an initial eval (his PA actually did most of this, but he smugly assured me that anyone could do bone surgery but it took an artist to do hand surgery). I think I saw him again very briefly prior to surg. A week after my surgery, during hand therapy, the PT in his employ, removed my sutures (I was told typically these stay in 2 wks) The suture line opened like a zipper. The finger became infected. I was seen in the ER and postponed vacation until I was released, returning daily x 2 for IV antibiotics. I was approved by he or an MD in the group, to switch to oral antibxs and travel, on day 3. As the oral antibx rx ran out, the finger was stable but still smelly, swollen and oozing pus. When I called the office to find out if they felt I should continue antibx's, he distained to speak to me personally, ( the office nurse was apologetic as he was standing next to… her) he was standing next to the office and advised if I felt I needed an eval, I could come back to VA. Instead I found an UCC in Holden Beach, NC. The MD expressed concerned as he felt it was probably MERSA, and treated me successfully for the infection. Dr. D. was not going to see me on my final visit, so I demanded to see him instead of being released by his PA. I would never see this group again. As the saying goes, "Birds of a feather flock together." I was quite upset when we met the last time. I felt his bedside manner was trivializing , demeaning and far more concerned with his income that with patient safety. However, I'm grateful I have the ability to steer our company employees away from the possibility of a similar experience.
