Dr. Preston Clay Alexander, MD

I was assigned Preston Alexander as my emergency OB at Baylor Centennial. This guys bed side manner is a joke. He was angry that he got called in and was telling me he couldn't be in two places at once. The staff was irritated with him because they kept calling him for a physical evaluation. When he finally did show up, he just stood there with his hands on his hips asking what do you want to know? I stated that he's only here because this is an emergency. I asked for surgery right away but he was so arrogant and didn't want a patient to be right. I don't think he ever looked at my chart because he ordered me medicine for heavy periods at that point. I had a miscarriage at home, passed the baby and started hemorrhaging. By the time EMTs arrived I lost a liter of blood. I ended up in shock in the ICU where Preston Alexander finally showed up after 5 hrs. He decided to induce me against my wishes. I was 14 weeks and had already passed the baby, clearly I needed to go right to… Surgery once I was stable to remove my retained placenta and cells that were imbedded into my uterus. I was still profusely bleeding up until the surgery. I begged to go right into surgery and told him I was too weak. This is while I am getting yet another blood transfusion and my blood pressure is tanking. He put me through unnecessary induction pain and tried to manually pull out clots. I've had two natural births before this and nothing compared to this pain! This part added unnecessary trauma. He eventually did the surgery 12 hrs after I arrived to the hospital and told me I would go home after an hour. By that point I turned septic and did not in fact go home an hour after that surgery. I was there for another week and I never saw him again. He never even called to talk about my surgery findings that explained why I hemorrhaged. After reviewing my medical records: this OB ordered me Methergine injection (oxytocin) when my MAP was 30, hemoglobin was 7.1 after plasma, 3 units of blood and BP at 70/50. He continued to put his fist in my pelvic area multiple times trying to manually push it through a cervix of 2 cm to remove a retained placenta. I begged him to stop, he did not. As a patient with rights, I asked multiple times to go right into surgery! This was ignored and then I get violated. I have severe trauma from this experience and there is no way this is standard level of life saving medical gynecological care. Beware to anyone who uses this practice because you might just get this OB as your provider.

Stay away from this dangerous doctor!!!!!

TERRIBLE DOCTOR! HE WAS INFORMED THAT MY WIFE IS AT THE HOSPITAL AT 4 PM, AND YET SHOWED UP 30 MINUTES AFTER THE DELIVERY AT 10 PM!!! DIDN'T REALLY CARE TO BE THERE AND ON THE LAST DAY JUST SHOWED UP TO TALK LIKE A MACHINE, WAVE AT US, AND LEAVE! OUR OLD FAMILY DOCTOR WHO ALWAYS SPENT AT LEAST 30 MINUTES WITH EACH PATIENT CALLED THESE KIND OF DOCTORS SATANS IN WHITE COATS. TRUE!

Very good doctor

He used to be caring and used to listen. This is no longer the case.

Only book appointments in the morning if you want them to be on time, afternoon appointments always run an hour behind.

Dr. Alexander has been my dr for 10+ years. He is the most kind gentle man I have ever met. His staff are also extremely kind. I would recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Alexander was very inappropriate with his behavior while in the exam room. His nurse was in the room but had her back to us. She never turned around during exam until the very end. Many of his comments were demeaning and very inappropriate. I would never go back to him nor would I ever recommend his services or care to anyone.

I will definitely recommend Dr Alexander to alll my friends, family and co-workers as a matter of fact I have recommended to a lot of friends that changed to him already. We all do not have any complaint about him he is a very caring and wonderful doctor.
