Dr. Rachel Villanueva, MD

I had my first appointment with Dr. Villanueva last week. Not only is she a very knowledgeable and compassionate physician, she took the time to listen. I truly felt seen & heard and I sincerely appreciate that in a doctor. I would recommend her to my closest loved ones.

I definitely did not have the negative experience described by the other reviewers. The front desk/check in process was professional, courteous and speedy. The staff was friendly. Dr. Villanueva was on time for my appointment. She took the time to listen to my concerns and I did not feel rushed during the exam/visit. I found her to be a direct, honest, thorough and smart professional with a sense of humor. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

I had the same experience as many of the other reviewers. I was comforted reading that I wasn’t the only one who had a very bad experience with Dr. Villaneuva. Jekyll and Hyde is probably the best way to describe Dr. Villaneuva’s bedside manner. She acts very nice in front of the reception staff and in the hallway. However, once in her office her demeanor completely changes. She’s extremely rude, curt, impatient and dismissive. She made me feel like I was wasting her time and every question I asked was a dumb question. My husband and I both agreed that we actually have never seen a doctor act like her. She seems unstable. The way she acts is rather scary. She made me feel like she was going to bite my head off when I asked her anything. I thought about leaving a couple of times. I stayed because I was actually scared and didn’t know what to do. The whole experience was disturbing. If you are looking for a compassionate doctor who makes you feel comfortable and at ease then Dr.… Villaneuva is not for you. I’m not sure who would recommend this doctor. She’s a total nightmare.

An OB-GYN should be the most important doctor in a woman's life and she's the worst I've ever encounter. If you need a quick annual follow-up she might be ok beside her terrible bedside manners, but if you want answers, if you have concerns or simply if you seek a human being as a doctor, just don't go to her. My husband and I are trying to conceive for more than 15 months and she never took interest in our case. I had a miscarriage last February and not even she never offered at least a sense of compassion, she has completely forgotten about it when I called for a follow up this month! When I asked her for a hormonal check-up just to check that everything was ok with me, she told me she was a specialist of pregnant women and that I needed to go see a fertility specialist...nice! Do yourself a favor and go see someone who actually cares about you.

Ive had a HORRIBLE experience at Dr. Rachel Villanueva, MD office. I went in for my annual. I waited 45 minutes. Opted to get a full STD screening. THREE people tried to take my blood sample, NONE could get a vein (min you I ate and drank a ton of water before my appointment). One of the woman who tried to take my blood stuck into my arm and literally started to swivel it in my arm as a haphazard way to find my vein. Once all the assistants failed to access a vein (please note that I am an physically active 27 year old biracial woman and I have no medical issues) ,the office then choose to fill out a script for the STD screening to Quest lab (the specific form I had received was for was quest lab and I was advised to make to make an appointment online) . I go to Quest lab and this lab DOES NOT take my insurance. I called the office and asked them how did this happen. The office then tells me that Quest lab should have notified me of the insurance issue. REALLY!!!! This office sent me… the INCORRECT script, then proceeds to put the blame elsewhere. The office then informed me that I would have to call on Monday to receive the correct paperwork. Incompetency level (on a scale of 1-10) is a 10, Customer service ( on a level of 1-10) is a 0. DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT HERE.

She has been my doctor through several traumatic experiences such as miscarriage and an ectopic and has given me the best care. She delivered my first child and I plan on seeing her for the next one. While she doesn't sugarcoat things when serious trauma happened to me she was kind and caring. I trust her judgment and would recommend her to anyone who wants a really smart doctor.

I saw this woman with my first pregnancy. She was very quick and condescending at times during the office exams, but I brushed this off as she seemed to have come from a good school and affiliated with a decent hospital (or so I thought). Days away from my due date, I began to have contractions which got closer together and very intense, rushed to the hospital in agonizing pain and she never called us and had us waiting in the hospital waiting room for about 5 hours until I started vomiting and falling to the floor in pain to all the visitors shock. At that point, my husband angrily demanded that someone check on me (as no one had at that point - not even a nurse) and when we finally got a "make-shift" bed for examination by a physician assistant, as I was writhing in pain and contractions were going off the charts. They told me that I was not dilated and that I should come back and if I stayed at that point they would proceed to give me a c-section. As advised by her staff and… because we saw that they were not pressed with my condition and first time at this, we went home. The pain never subsided and Dr. Villanueva decided to finally call me later that day (not to find out about me), but to yell at me as I'm still writhing in pain at home, "you are not in labor!" and telling me to tell my husband that he is not to disrespect any of her staff members at the hospital again. She never asked about my well-being or details of my current labor pains or contractions. She was so upset! Because of her, I stayed longer than I should have at home with such intense pain when we finally broke down and went back to the hospital (I was in intense pain for more than 48 hours). She was not there when we arrived and her colleague finally delivered my baby via "emergency" c-section, after directing me into pushing for 2.5 hours after all that pain I had endured previously. After the c-section, they realized something was not normal in my delivery and it turned out my baby was never coming out naturally for obvious reasons. She never visited or contacted me for the three days preceding the c-section. My child was visibly stressed at birth and jaundiced. Finally, on the last day, she casually showed up on the last day of my hospitalization and pretended as if all was a normal delivery. She never apologized for being rude and yelling at me while I was under intense contractions. This doctor is very rude, has no compassion, is quick to judge, and has no business being involve with delivery of babies. She should not be near a child or a pregnant woman (especially if it is her first experience). This woman must have some serious issues that interfere with her line of work. Steer clear as she seems emotionally and socially unstable.

We were very happy with Dr. V. We liked her competence and also her dynamic and youthful style. Cannot share at all the negative assessments. Would totally recommend her to family and friends. The fact that the office staff has lots of room for improvement is not her, but Rosh FM's fault.

Let me begin with the fact that this is the first time I ever wrote a review about a doctor. Rachel Villanueva is most most rude, arrogant and condesending physician I have ever came into contact with! The fact that I deliberately left out Dr. speaks volumes! I am over 5o years old and this was the the first gynocological exam that HURT me! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN!!!
