Dr. Rahul Arun Patel, MD

I do not recommend Dr. Rahul Patel. He is a bad doctor! I am a healthy male in my mid-50's. I went to see him for a wellness check (yearly physical exam). He scolded me as if I were a 10 year old child for eating red meat and drinking red wine. He actually scolded me!! Who the hell does he think he is? You do not talk to patients that way. Additionally, he ordered a completely unnecessary blood test: vitamin D test. This unneeded test is not covered by insurance because is it is completely unnecessary. I tried appealing for a year but in the end I got stuck with the $241 bill. Again, for an unnecessary test. Is he getting a kickback from the lab? Otherwise, why order a completely unnecessary test that the patient will have to pay for out of pocket. It just makes no sense. He is the worst doctor I have ever been to and needless to say, I do not go see him anymore. Stay away from him!

Although it takes time to get an appointment and the wait time could be a long one, Dr. Patel is worth the wait. He doesn't rush you out of his office and really sits and listens to you.

A CO WORKER REFERRED DR. PATEL AND I AM VERY PLEASED WITH HIS SERVICES. NOT ONLY IS HE THOROUGH, AND PROACTIVE, HE TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS.

I had made an appointment to follow up on blood work results that weren't looking so good. After waiting 1hr and a half, I was taken for my vitals and co-payment of $15. I wasn't aware that I had an outstanding balance ($17) from an EKG that was done a few months earlier. All I had was a $20 bill. They took the payment made me wait some more and then said that Patel refused to see me if I didn't have the full payment. I guess the $12 difference is more important than my health.

This doctor has discussed "Obama-Care" in a negative way on more than one occasion. I found this to be very un-professional!

Would not visit him again. Did not take a thorough history of my health conditions, meds etc. Did not let me speak or ask questions, felt rushed and he acted like he knew my problem before I could even explain it to him.

Dr. Patel is an excellent doctor. He takes all steps necessary to diagnose a problem and does not rush through a visit. The only reason I left was because I moved and I miss seeing Dr. Patel.

Dr.Patel is not the problem in his office. His staff states you cannot see the dr. for 5 weeks because the "snow birds" are here. They neglect to tell you he does not visit Palms W est Hospital anymore. You find that out when you get a " house doctor " when you are admitted. Patient files are incomplete or not sent when you change doctors. Called in to have extremely high blood pressure checked and was told he was too busy.Was directed to awalk in clinic or to go to JFK hospital emergency room.Dr. Patel is competent but his staff herds them in and herds them out. I CAN NOT recomend this office.
