Rajeevi Madankumar, MD

My wife and I had an appointment at Long Island Jewish this morning for my our sonogram. We already found out that our child is going to be born with down syndrome and during this sonogram they discovered some fluid around the lung and stated that the baby was swollen. Dr. Madankumar at no point explained any of this to us, at no point provided any guidance she basically just verbalized what she saw on the sonogram. In fact, I had to stop her mid sentence twice to try and get a question in. Dr. Madankumar was extremely condescending and dismissive of our questions and concerns. It was as if we were just a number, just another patient that she has to see today. It was disappointing, and quite frankly an awful experience. The fact that my wife and I left her office today with more questions than answers is awful. I made a point to ensure our next appointment is not when Dr. Madankumar is on shift.
