Dr. Rajesh Raina, MD, FACP

I am wheelchair bound and unable to get to the office easily. He took over when my dr retired. His staff scheduled a telehealth for a medication refill. He told me that I know too much about the disease that I have and I should find another dr to teach. A dr who is too full of himself to listen or speak to his patients is NOT someone I want in charge of my care.

My wife and I are both very sorry we trusted Dr. Raina and his staff for our medical care. Writing a review seems to be my only recourse, and I hope it will help prevent some of my neighbors from choosing Medical Associates.

Dr. Rajesh Raina should be rated less than 1 star. He thinks of himself primarily as a businessman and does not care about patients or people in general. He is also the worst physician I have ever encountered and should not be practicing medicine. I scheduled a complete physical with Dr. Raina, but he failed to perform a physical examination. He did not perform any part of an exam, but the visit was billed as a complete physical. Not only does Dr. Raina not perform a physical exam, but he does not look up from his computer, ever. His bedside manner is horrible--he never looks at the patient. On the other hand, he allows his staff to enter the room without knocking. Apparently, the staff is instructed to make sure the visit does not exceed 7 minutes. I was shocked when a medical assistant opened the door to the examination room without knocking. (I guess it could have been worse. If Dr. Raina was actually practicing medicine and performing a physical exam, I would have been… mortified.) After the visit, I was never called with test results and the practice does not allow access to a patient portal. The patient cannot obtain test results by phone or computer. Dr. Raina requires the patient to make a second appointment in order to obtain test results. My follow-up appointment was about 60 seconds. I was told all of my results were normal. Then I received a bill. This policy is clearly not patient-friendly. It places an additional financial and physical burden on the patient. It allows him to bill for another office visit in order to increase reimbursement, at the patient's expense. And just when you thought Dr. Rajesh Raina and his practice could not get any worse, it does. The second time I was there, I realized there were cameras placed throughout the office. This man is literally spying on people. Apparently, he doesn't trust his staff, the other physicians or patients. Later, I was told by an office manager that he has hired someone to man the cameras in real time--one person whose job it is to watch these videos on an array of screens in a remote office. I sincerely recommend staying away from this man, this medical practice and every office associated with him.

I have been seeing Dr Raina for awhile after he took over my previous doctors practice. I am a diabetic with some trouble controlling sugar and since he has been taking care of me my sugar has come under control and my numbers have been better. Despite reviews here he has always spoken to me directly answered any questions i had and certainly showed concern for my well being. The office is very crowded so sometimes they get behind. The reason is because he is popular and his patients like him and keep coming. Thats my experience.

Don't say you weren't warned.

He is such a wonderful, caring, and knowledgeable doctor and I’m lucky to have found him! I've recommended several people to him!!

Every good review on any website is all fake done by the office staff!!!! They force the doctors to do unnecessary test to bill your insurance company beware!!!

Worst of the worst!!! Scammers

I'm relatively new to the Bayside area, as a of matter of fact in New York. I have had some trouble finding a good family physician till I met Dr. Raj Raina. Impressed by the exceptional customer service, thorough and detailed consultation. Therefore, I would highly recommend Medical Associates and Dr. Raj Raina in particular to everyone close to Bayside, Queens.

The only reason why I go back is because the medical assistants are very sweet. The girl I had was very polite and made me feel comfortable. I forgot her name but I remember telling me she just recently had a baby. But these poor girls seemed very overwhelmed. They have a lot going on and can be seen running around the office. Iam sure it's from all the over booking. I know you need to make your money but people don't have 2-3 hours to wait. There's easily 20 other doctors in the area that people can go to without the wait.
