Dr. Ralph Theodore Compton, MD

I would be most reluctant to turn to anyone else for my eye care. Dr. Compton is friendly and exceedingly capable. A real treasure.

Dr.Compton is skilled at his profession, and, importantly to the average person, explaining what he is looking for and what it means to me.

I saw Dr Compton for a consult for cataract surgery. First, the staff at Oconomowoc office treated me as if I was an imposition and they were running quite late for their scheduled appointments. When I finally saw Dr Compton, he did not want to take the time to answer questions. He does not do laser surgery (only traditional type of surgery) nor does he use anything but the standard type of lens. He could not (or would not) objectively discuss the pro/cons of laser vs traditional surgery. Nor would he objectively discuss the pro/cons of different types of lens. He DID provide a brochure to read and pointed out the additional expense of laser surgery and specialty lens. I could have saved myself a bunch of money by just getting the brochure from their office (if they would have offered that option). The entire appointment was worthless since I did not get any of my questions answered. When making the appointment, the staff could have asked if there was any interest in… laser surgery and make my appointment with one of the other DR who do laser surgery. Very disappointed and would not feel comfortable with Dr. Compton as my surgeon.
