My appointment time was 11 AM. I arrived at 10:50 and sat in the waiting room until 11:45. I sat in the exam room for 10 more minutes before the nurse came in. The nurse did the entire refraction exam, the doctor had nothing to do wiht it. When she was done, I waited in the exam room another HOUR before the doctor finally came in. He was pushy about my needing Restasis for "dry eyes", which I don't have. Then he dilated my eyes and sent me out into the waiting room for the drops to take effect, because "we need the room" - they have 9 exam rooms and every one was filled, despite the fact that he was the only doctor present (can you say 'overbooked'?). at that point I had already been there more than 2 1/2 hours! When he called me back in to the exam room, he looked at each eye for under 2 minutes and then asserted that I have stage-four retinopathy in my left eye requiring immediate laser surgery, and insisted that I make an appointment RIGHT NOW, through his staff. When I told the… staff person that I couldn't make the appt RIGHT NOW because I didn't have my work calendar with me, she was upset and insisted I call back the next day. When I hadn't called by noon, she called me. When I said I wasn't comfortable with moving this fast and needed to do some additional research, she got very indignant: "Well, I'll have to tell the doctor about THAT!" I told her to go ahead. I haven't heard from them since, and am seeking a second opinion. I think this guy's getting kickbacks from pharma reps and laser surgeons. I don't trust him. It's all about the money and what can patients be pushed into.
