Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy, MD

Based on the information below, I would never recommend Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy. I would suggest not using him as your Neurologist. In fact, I am reporting Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy to the Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy has the worst bedside manner of any MD or DO I have seen in my life. He does NOT take the time to explain anything that you don’t ask him about. In other words, you must ask questions even about a basic diagnosis because he won’t offer the information. He rushes from one patient to another and is not warm or comforting and without any empathy whatsoever! Because Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy does not communicate well verbally and does not explain much, I decided after my 2nd visit to ask my questions/comments via the portal so that everything is explained correctly and documented. I specifically requested that all responses be in writing via the portal and not by phone. Dr. Ramesh Gopalaswamy did not respect my request… and instead called me to discuss my questions. I did not accept the phone call as I do want everything documented. You don’t need to read the details of my questions below, but if you do, you will note that these are questions that are not extraordinary. They are simply questions that will allow me to make educated medical decisions now and in the future. #1 - Today 8/19/25, You mentioned that my RNP Antibodies number was slightly high, but you did not include that in the Encounters or Assessments section of the portal information or on the printed version of the script for the rheumatologist. Why not? You specifically told me to mention this to the rheumatologist. #2 - In the Assessments section you have the same copy/text for every single diagnosis for my 7/18/25 and 8/19/25 visits including the new items listed - Polyarthralgia (ICD-10 - M25.50) and Rheumatoid factor positive (ICD-10 - R76.8). Why? I need the specific information relating to each diagnosis to be included for the specific diagnosis. #3 - On the progress notes for both 7/18/25 and 8/19/25 you listed many subcategories which have Details and Notes written next to each item for example: Cardiovascular: No cardiac murmurs. No carotid or vertebral bruits. No radial pulse delay or asymmetry. Pedal pulses are normal bilaterally. No pedal edema. Why do you have information listed here, as you did NOT listen to my heart with a stethoscope on either visit! The same applies to all other items listed in this section. #4 - In the notes for both visits, you stated: The patient denies any symptoms of dysautonomia such as dry mouth, urinary retention or GI dysmotility. During my call to you AFTER my 7/18/25 visit, I specifically stated that you did not ask me about dry mouth, which I do have, and you stated you would change this information in the portal for the 7/18/25 visit, and you did not! Why not? #5 On my initial visit, you stated that I don't have any type of neuropathy. In the Assessments section you state that I do have distal paresthesia as per the definition below that I found online. The definition below does not include burning feet, so I don't know what your diagnosis of distal paresthesia applies to. Definition I found online using AI: Distal paresthesia refers to an abnormal sensation, often described as tingling, prickling, or numbness, that occurs in the extremities, particularly the hands and feet. It's a type of neuropathy, meaning nerve dysfunction, and can be a symptom of various underlying conditions. The term "distal" signifies that the symptoms are more pronounced in the furthest parts of the limbs. #6 Towards the end of the 2nd appointment, I asked you to write down what we discussed for pain management. You mentioned an epidural and some other type of test. You never wrote any of this information down for me, and you never included it in any location in the portal. Why not? I still don't know the name of the other type of test. #7 Why did you bring some

Never seen such bad service in my 77 years as this from Sunrise Medical Group. For refills, I used to email the doctor's assistant Rebecca via their portal w/o problem. This time I didn’t get an answer. When I called, NO ONE there to TALK TO! It’s all recordings! I tried both “refills” and “making appointment”; I was told my message would be answered within 24 hrs. Really? Two days later, still waiting for a call back, I went there in person. The receptionist said Rebecca no longer worked there… so, NO ANSWER because she’s gone? The email was addressed to Dr Gopalaswami, care of Rebecca! How about that for an efficient portal! The receptionist assured me she would relay my request to the doctor, who was not yet there at the time. Now it’s the weekend, my medication is running out and not a word from Medical Group! My pharmacy has no refill order! The thing is, I saw five receptionists (not very busy as there was no waiting) in the lobby. Not one of them could be assigned to answer… phone calls? To answer emails? To pass on messages to doctors?

I was referred to him from my eye doctor. I spent more time with his medical asst then him. I tried to ask questions about my diagnoses and he got up, went to his office and brought back some paper work and told me I would find all the answers in there. I was sent for and MRI, it took 3 more weeks to get in there to receive the results. After the apt was canceled and had to reschedule. Then he sent me for a spinal tap, Tried to make an apt to get the results, it was canceled twice (mind you both time I was on my way to the office) tried to reschedule a 3rd time and was told he was going to be out of the country. He has no best side manner, DOES not time the time with patients, looks at you like he is better then you. All he wants it seems is the money. Doesn't care about the people he is treating. Find another doctor to see and don't waste your time with him

If I could give no stars i would.I waited for appointment with this doctor with great expectations to finally have my problem diagnosed.He was maybe 5mins.in room with me never looked up at me did exam anything he berated me told he thinks my problem is i want it to be a neurological problem then left the room.he said what so you want i said an mri he said fine walked my husband and i to check out window didnt say another word to us passed the mri over his shoulder to us and walked off.I never heard back from him for over a month and a half plus .p.s. Staff there are horrible .Luckly i had already got a copy of my mri results through a different doctors office had my angiogram and nuerosurgery scheduled before his office even called me.turns out i had a very serious neurological problem which all my symptoms fit .he never to this day called me personally even to see how i am or to apologize for his rudeness or to give me my results from that mri.i left his office crying the one and… only time i saw him.people say there's a reason i survived.i know it's to warn people of doctors like this and to always trust in your instincts if you know there is something wrong with your health keep fighting for it there are still good doctors out there they're just hard to find this doctor is definitely not one of the good ones.

I don't know about everyone else, but he took his time with me, explained things to me and was very patient with me. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

I had an emg and nconduction test. All done by a tech no doctor even on premise. By the by an emg requires needles to be inserted into muscles. This testinfg was done over a month ago and he hasn't looked at the test and his office refuses to release the test results to another doctor. Mean time I am sitting with no results and living through symtoms. The office personal is uncaring and rude. I wouldn't suggest anybody ever go to this jerk!!
