Dr. Rana R. Abraham, MD

Unfortunately I can’t give any good feedback on her. I’m dealing with some extreme and scary gastro issues and she doesn’t seem to take it seriously. She cuts you off when you’re trying to explain things to her. She looks at you like you’re crazy when telling her your symptoms and she just doesn’t take time to explain anything. Second appt with her was just as crappy as the first one. I vowed I’d never see her again the first time but with the struggles of getting a gastro doc these days I had no choice. I’m surely looking elsewhere!

First time I saw dr. Rana, she heard my story, laughed so much like I am joking and instantly told me, I can’t help you. Then she decided on doing an expensive procedure to find out what’s going on. She did not even think of my condition , symptoms and my health background to find other solutions than doing a horrible procedure living with tubes that goes in my nose and throat for 48 hours. When I said I am scared, she told me go take this medicine and don’t come back to me. Like she was mad I did not accept the operation she offered me. I went to another doctor and he suggested to take a new medicine for simply acid reflux and I am doing amazing. He told me that not every doctor treat his or her patients with honesty. The majority of doctors are just trying to push specific medicine brands and procedures not because patients need it but because they want to make more profit selling that brand. Dr. Rana mentioned on one of her videos that she treats her patients the way she wants to… be treated. Guess what dr. Rana, you have a lot to do to change what your doing right now. My last appointment, I left your office with tears when you told me there is no solution for my problem and you made it like I have incurable disease while I was suffering from ACID REFLUX. Unfortunately, you are not the only one who treat her patients like this and there are many doctors who see their patients as numbers and how much money they can get out of each visit. Soooo sad!!!! I hope one day your doctor will treat you the same way you treated me. Good luck to be a better doctor.

I thought Dr. Abraham was smart and enthusiastic, and seemed to know a lot about her specialty. She also came highly recommended by another doctor at Rush that I have seen a few times and whose recommendation I trust.

The entire process of getting any follow-up is horrible. It takes days to get a call back from a nurse and they are not helpful at all. She specified to call back and report how her initial advice was working. The nurses provide no details at all and then another 4 days can go by before any call back at all. A second appointment was necessary ...wait time 2 plus months, even though she specified to come back before this time. I have the same symptoms as at my initial visit, with no follow-up advice, altered treatment or appointment in the near future. A colossal waste of time. I will start fresh with someone else, NOT AT RUSH! Do not waste your time with her.
