Dr. Randall Kenneth Schaefer, MD

I've read a lot of reviews on here. I have to start by saying Dr. Shaefer is a surgeon, not a therapist. If a Dr. has a great bed side manner that works for you, that's a bonus. A lot are very direct and dry. I'm a sensitive person myself but I have learned to appreciate a Dr.'s skill above his or her personality!! Dr. Shaefer has helped me when I was lost in the cracks so to speak. He's not there to comfort me he's there to help fix a problem I have. I have a weight issue and he wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't tell me if it affects my injury not to get the weight off. Also to inform me of how it affects recovery or possible complications. Is he direct yes, this hasn't affected his skill set as a surgeon. If anything he's doing a better job than someone who doesn't tell you, it must be addressed for your benefit! If you want a Dr. Who is going to get you where need to be Dr. Shaefer is great. If your more concerned about your Dr. Saying things less direct and what you want to… hear with less experience and skill that's your call to make! I have had 2 surgeries with dr. Shaffer and have come out the other side a million times better. Is he the most gentle doctor, no. But I needed a great surgeon, not a friend. I'm great with his bed side manners as long as I feel better after surgery, who gives a crap about his bed side manners. This is why I'm going back for a 3rd surgery.

I have never been treated so poorly by a Dr. In all my life! If you have any weight issues he will make it known to you. And he will not listen to anything you have to say about your own health. Arrogance beyond anything I've ever experienced. Please do yourself a favor. Pick another choice.

I love this office and all of its staff. Dr Shaefer as a surgeon is remarkable. I wanted the best and got the best. My pain level is way down and have 80 percent movement back. If you need your belly rubbed,he is not the one to do it.He will get you on the right track and up n moving after surgery. I'm getting older so I'm sure I'll need his services again.

May be a great surgeon, but after surgery he will not help you. He will not answer your questions. He will not tolerate the patient at all. Berated for my weight in exam room with door open in front of staff, my family and his entire waiting room.

This was the most childish abusive doctor I have ever seen

Dr Schaefer has performed 2 surgeries on my knees. I would recommend him in a heart beat. My career relies on my ability to remain active and mobile and his work was outstanding. Not only where his bed side manners excellent, but he showed a genuine desire to help me.

Doctor needs to find a way not to work with people. Must have failed the compassion and caring part of school. Not a good choice.

He may be a good surgeon but terrible doctor. Treated myself and my family member very abusively. I regretted my choice of him as my doctor. Did not listen nor care what I had to say.

Dr. Schaefer is doing an awesome job taking care of my work related knee injury. He is on time for appointments, gives me my options and allows me to make the choice. I am extremely happy with his care and would refer others to him. He cares about his patients and takes the time to listen.
