I've been seeing Dr Evans for years and he's the best headache specialist I know. He's very kind, caring, and attentive to details. He's very experienced, really knows his stuff, and I cannot say enough great things about him. People drive from other cities to see him. His patients stay with him for many years. Although some, usually new patients, are quick to post negative reviews after the first visit because they didn't get the treatment they wanted for their headaches or disagreed with their diagnosis. Dr Evans is a medical professional. Professionals go to school, get advanced degrees, and get licensed. Medical professionals follow their professional societies guidelines and recommendations. You cannot just walk into a medical office and place an order like you do in Starbucks. That treatment you Googled maybe contraindicated in your case. Please have some respect for your doctor. Having been practicing medicine for 40 years, chances are he actually knows what may be the best for… you.

Needs to work on his bedside manner and act like a professional. He barely makes any eye contact, got annoyed when I asked questions, and never looked up from his computer to address my concerns. I stared out the window while he typed and then got an attitude with me when I asked a question because he sent me an article to read so why should I ask anything else and he also pointed out that he was walking out when I asked the question. Who cares? I’m a patient with concerns about my condition! That is why I drove all the way into town, paid for parking, and waited an hour...to ask a specialist questions and get some answers. I told him he’s being disrespectful, unprofessional, and I don’t appreciate it. He never apologized or even acknowledged he did anything wrong. He just stumbled over his words and said, “Well, hope you feel better.” Nothing like a specialist trivializing your facial paralysis to start the day.

I went to see him. He spent 95% of the time looking at his computer ignoring me. Completely missing a bedside manner. Only asked a couple of questions that weren't repeats because he wasn't listening to my answers the first time I gave them to him. Was trying to push tons of different medications without explaining why one would be better than another. Told me I need to convince my other doctor to up the dosage on one of my meds. I wanted to walk out of the room the first 10 minutes he was there. On the good side, he was on time, but also pushed me out the door to get his next appointment.

Dr Evans is truly amazing. I was very impressed by my very first visit many years ago when Dr Evans diagnosed me correctly after 15 years of episodic headaches and prescribed me a new medication that had worked wonders. For the first time in my life something actually worked!!! Dr Evans is great at recommending new more effective treatments when they become available. He really listens to your concerns and takes his time with his patients. My experiences have only been very positive. Dr Evans is not only one of the leading US specialists in his field, he’s also one of the most compassionate, attentive, and kindest physicians I’ve ever met. It’s interesting to read comments from people who were not happy with their care but they come back again years later. It just proves the comment below that Dr Evans is THE BEST. Some patients suffer from migraines for years but expect cure on the first visit. Like magic. Unfortunately, migraines are not curable. But they are treatable if you… listen to your doctor and follow his recommendations. So if you are looking for the best headache specialist, Dr Evans is your doctor. Very highly recommended!

I have been seeing Dr.Evans for over 2 years now. I see him every 3 months for botox injections for my migraines. I have tried several different medications from previous doctors, so Dr. Evan started with new ones. I finally found a combination that helps them go away. He suggested Botox because I was getting them daily, and wow has it helped tremendously. Dr. Evan's may come across cold, but he is very friendly and truly wants to help. I have never had an issue of being rushed with any appt. He sits and listen's and types an updates/new with each appointment. He is a great doc! However, my experience with the wait time to see the doctor is horrible.

Dr. Evans didn't bother to spend time to make the right diagnosis. He had me taking antiepileptic for 6 months with the wrong diagnosis. He said that I have migraine and tried to explain that I am not responding to treatment. I ended up going to another doctor where he diagnosed me with cervicogenic headache with a completely different treatment. My headache is gone since, and I've been feeling much better. Doctors are human-being and are prone to mistakes but when you don't give enough time to listen to your patient's symptoms then there is a problem
