Hides behind a false facade.

I love love Dr.Zimmerman I was referred to him by several people Switched midway thru my pregnancy and it's the best decision I ever made. I had a very good experience with the nurses and nurse practitioner there as well.

Dr. Z delivered my son 9 years ago, and I always thought I was in good hands in his care. However, it recently came to my attention that he discussed my care with other Advocate doctors without my permission, and this is not only very hurtful to me as a person, it is also a violation of my privacy as a patient. I'm very sad to learn about this, as I feel over the last nearly 10 years, I may have been the subject of conversation behind my back, while entrusting doctors to care for me and protect my confidentiality.

First off, Dr. Zimmerman is an excellent doctor and is definitely a good choice if you want to be sure you are in good hands if any complications arise with your pregnancy. That being said, I'm not sure if it was just me but I did not find his bedside manner great at all. During my visits, I found him to be condescending and he often spoke to me as if I were a child. To top it off, when i was in labor he came in my room without so much as a hello, and proceeded to try to break my water without even asking or discussing the matter. I calmly told him I was scared and wasn't sure I wanted my water broken at that time. At that point, I was only 2 hours into my labor. He scoffed at me and told me if I wanted to sit there all day without any progress then that was up to me. In a huff, he said do what you want to do and left the room. I could not even believe what had just happened and sat there crying and terrified. If I were to have another baby, I would have to think long and hard… if i chose him again. Like I said above, he is a great doctor and definitely knows his stuff, but I honestly never really felt good after visiting him. Oh, and his staff is great. Very friendly and courteous.

I have had several babies with this doctor. He has done a great job. The office staff are not so great! They are rude and treat you like dirt!! The nurses are, but the people who are in charge of scheduling, billing, and the office manager are not very professional! They threaten and discourage. If you are not pregnant, forget about being shown respect and the time of day by these people!

Dr. Zimmerman is one of the most compassionate doctors I know. His staff is courteous and consciousness. His is one of the only practices I know that follows up with a patient to be sure they get the care that is needed.

To say he's the best would be an understatement. He's an amazing physician. I had a twin pregnancy which caused intense morning sickness for my entire first trimester. With each hospitalization, he was in multiple times to check on me-even asking me to keep his cell phone number incase I needed to reach him without having to call his answering service first. Office staff is friendly and just as compassionate. There's no one else I would have trusted more with my high risk pregnancy than Dr. Zimmerman!

Dr. Zimmerman is great! He is thorough, knowledgable, and friendly. My first baby had breathing problems as soon as he was born and Dr. Z was on top of it like nothing I've ever seen. Always made my husband feel welcome at the appointments and went above and beyond to explain any questions. Office staff is friendly and efficient as well; I've never had to wait more than a day for blood work results. I'm pregnant with #2 and wouldn't go to anybody but Dr. Zimmerman.

I heard such great things about this doctor and his office. After switching to Dr. Zimmerman, I am very disappointed. I did not receive test result phone calls. I always had to call his office and some of the wonderful office staff really aren't that wonderful, nurses excluded.

Have seen him for 9 years and he delivered my 3 youngest children. Totally trust him and he is wonderful. I have sent probably 10 or more people to see him for OB care and other gynecological issues and they all love him. All my neighbors now use him too. Told me once "if it bothers you it bothers me so I never mind when you call me" he even had to deliver my youngest son on Christmas day and was great. I have a history of preterm labor and complications and he has helped mange the pregnancies so well I have been able to deliver healthy babies without extra medicine and hospital stays like with my 2nd daughter. Also helped diagnose appendicitis in ER at hospital. (they called him in to consult)
