She earned her B.S. degree at East Carolina University where she was a member of the Pure Gold Dance Team. In 2008, Dr. Monroe completed her pediatric residency at UNC-CH and then joined the practice at RCAM. She is married to former Pirate football player Kevin Monroe and has two sons.
