Dr. Monroe was born in Florida and lived there until her family relocated to Greenville, North Carolina where she attended high school. She earned her B.S. degree at East Carolina University where she was a member of the Pure Gold Dance Team. While earning her M.D. from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU, she was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. In 2008, Dr. Monroe completed her pediatric residency at UNC-CH and then joined the practice at RCAM. She is married to former Pirate football player Kevin Monroe and has two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, reading and traveling.
