Most attentive....listened, instead of looking into a phone/pad...explanations were concise and unhurried...efficient and kind. What more would you want from your doctor or a friend for that matter!

Having Planter fasciitis for 2 years I have seen several doctors including a podiatrist. I have tried orthotics, several rounds of shots in my feet, and physically therapy. Dr. Candage was my last resort. I wanted surgery, or really anything that would relief the pain. Dr. Candage told me to get this prescription cream and go to therapy for 6 weeks. Not for Physically therapy but for them to use the ultrasound machine with the cream. The appointments would be 15 – 20 mins. To say I was skeptical would be an understatement! His statement to me was 98% of people who complete this treatment no longer have foot pain and for the vast majority does not come back. So, I agreed and completed the 6 weeks at 3 times per week regiment. After about the 3 week I did not have foot pain. I completed the remaining weeks. To my disbelief I no longer had foot pain! As I am writing this it has been 2 years and I have yet to have a reoccurrence. With those results, I trust his opinion and… medical diagnosis.

I was required to make a substantial deposit of over $800.00 prior to my surgery. Ninety days after my surgery I have not yet been reimbursed for my overpayment/credit despite repeated telephone calls and inquiries. My insurance company promptly paid the balance due however Spectrum Orthopedics has continued to hold my overpayment. While I have no problem with the medical care I received I would not recommend this practice due to these questionable business practices.

I would never allow Dr. Candage to be my Dr again. As I mentioned in another review, he couldn't WAIT to leave the exam room. He pointed at a previous fracture and stated "This is a disaster waiting to happen. Your next step could be your last. Don't let it happen on my shift". I left the office crying. At the suggestion of my primary care physician, I called the office to complain about my treatment, and the office manager told me he denied ever saying that (basically calling me a liar), and said "The fracture I was treating her for will be fine". Also, another commenter stated he'd died in a car accident. It was his son who passed away. Horribly sad, yes. But no reason for him to take it out on his patients. Horrible bedside manner. Zero follow up.

Pay no attention to the 4 and 5 star reviews, they are relatives of his. Read the 1 star reviews. Don't walk, run to the nearest competent doctor! This jerk was rude, abrupt, and couldn't wait to get out of the examining room. He looks right at me when I asked questions about treatment and recovery and refused to answer while he shuffled his way out the door.

Stated that "no one would touch this" about a cyst I have on my knee and that people live with the pain cause by cysts "all the time"Offered absolutely no hope and/or suggestions for my injury. Cleveland clinic is going to perform surgery because they are competent enough to handle my case.

Dr. Candage is very good at what he does and very thorough. He doesn't sugar coat or beat around the bush, he is lets a lets get down to business Doctor and i like that. I do not want to chat about the days events with my doctors! But if it is your injury you want to talk about you have his ear as long as needed, i've never felt rushed.He repaired my knee and shoulder at the same time and i was back to work much quicker than i thought possible.Do not hesitate to pick Dr. Candage....if its the quality of work your after and not all the other crap he's your man!

I was treated coldly as if I was a hypochondriac instead of a person that was in a severe accident. He was abrupt, impersonal and insensitive. I have nothing good to say about this experience.

What a nice young men. Too bad he was driving a cheap Hyundai Accent at the time of his accident. How fast was he going to land on top of the trailer. Was he racing towards an emergency on icy I-94. I have a lot of compassion. Dr Candage was a surgical resident at Loyola University Medical Center and residents don't make the big doctor bucks. He was one of the sweetest people to walk the face of the earth. He was passionate about his work and the medical profession has lost a good one. Anyone of us would have been lucky to have him as our doctor.One last point, he is a child, brother, uncle, and father of a one year old child that will grow up without a father. A father that he lost 4 days before Christmas. Don't be so quick to judge and remember that it could have easily been anyone of us, regardless of the circumstances.
