I brought my daughter to see Rebecca when she was just six years old, after she was diagnosed with ADHD. I’ll never forget the words Rebecca said about her: “Nobody’s going to like her.” Those words cut deep—and they still echo today. Now my daughter is eleven. She struggles to be included, rarely invited to gatherings, and doesn’t have a best friend. She’s impulsive, yes—but she’s also incredibly loving, full of life, and has a beautiful spirit. Everyone’s solution has been to medicate her. We tried that, but it changed who she was—and I refuse to erase my child to make her more “acceptable.” Rebecca, you never should’ve said what you did. Not only were your words harmful, but you dismissed us from your practice altogether. I still wonder what we did to deserve that. I truly hope you’ve grown since then. If not, maybe one day you’ll come across this message and choose to do better—for the sake of every child who needs compassion, not condemnation.
